Chapter 74

I clicked the instant messaging app open to ask Chris about what exactly had happened. However, Chris deleted the message right at that moment. I was quite speechless. “What are you doing, you rascal? I read that.” “Urm…” “Hurry up and tell me what’s going on with Nadia.” I asked. “Freddie, I sent that message without thinking. Just pretend you didn’t read it.” I could not figure out what Chris was trying to do. “What exactly happened? Why can’t I know about it?” “It won’t help you with anything, Freddie. It’s better you not know about it.” Chris added a series of smiley faces at the back of that message. “Stop stalling and just tell me. Do you want me to beat you up in school?” “Fine. I’ll send you a clip. Just watch it.” Chris sent over a video clip after that. I did not click it open immediately but said to Lorne first, “Head to school, Lorne.” I lowered my head to watch the video after that. It was a pretty long video that lasted over ten minutes. The video showed a small meeting room with quite a lot of people in it. There was Nadia and some other students from our school. I could not understand what was happening at the start, nor did I know what were they doing. All I could see was that there was an argument going on. It took me quite a while to understand what was going on. This was the entrepreneur society, one of our school clubs. This was one of their regular meetings. During the meeting, the vice president of the society, Roxy Pearson, requested for the president, Nadia, to be removed from her post. The reason for this was quite far-fetched. It was because Nadia had f****d me. She had been f****d by someone who was well-known as a penniless loser in school. This had left a negative impact on their society, which was why Nadia no longer had the right to continue to sit as the president. As for the others, they agreed with Roxy and even suggested that Nadia be kicked out of the society to prevent this situation from getting more serious. Nadia looked extremely upset in the video. I could tell that she was furious. She was trying to explain herself, but no matter what she said, Roxy just rebutted her with the fact that she had f****d me before. The others present at the meeting would not stop criticizing and taunting her. Nadia was so angry in the video that I could see her body trembling. In the end, she hid her crying face and left, slamming the door behind her. I was upset to see Nadia looking so sad in the clip. Those bastards were just too arrogant! Even though this was just a video, I wanted to run over there and give them two vicious slaps each. When I was done with the video, I took two deep breaths and calmed myself down before replying to Chris’s message. “Where did you get this video from? When did this happen?” “Johnny Sims shared the video with me. He’s from the entrepreneur society as well, and he was present at the meeting.” “Johnny Sims?” I was quite surprised. “I don’t remember him being particularly close to you. Why would he share this video with you?” “He said that even though we’re not close, Nadia was still our class representative. He can’t stand by and watch while she’s being bullied. That was why he took a video of what was happening. He wanted to find out if we could do something and help Nadia.” “Alright, I’ve got it. I’ll take care of this. I won’t let those people off so easily.” At the end of the day, I was the one who had caused this. I had to take full responsibility. “I figured you were the best person to handle this. Those people were too arrogant. Even though Nadia usually throws her weight around, she’s still our classmate, after all. She’s one of us, and we can’t allow her to be bullied, right? By the way, how do you plan to take care of them, Freddie?” “I haven’t thought about it yet. Where’s Nadia? Is she alright?” I asked. “I would have forgotten about it if you hadn’t mentioned that. Nadia hasn’t been back at school since leaving that meeting room. Her roommate was worried something has happened to her and is still looking for her all around the school.” “Really? You should quickly mobilize all of our classmates to go look for her. We can’t let anything happen to her. What if she decides she can’t hold on any longer?” “I didn’t want to tell you because I was worried this would get you into trouble.” “Are you silly? Do you think I could stay out of this even if you hadn’t told me about it? She slept with me, after all.” I was exasperated. “Alright. I’ll get our classmates to search for her.” … When I was done talking to Chris, I said to Lorne, “Lorne, drive faster. I have something urgent going on at school.” “Got it.” Lorne slammed his foot down on the accelerator after that, and the Land Rover flew speedily toward school. It was still some time before we would reach the school, so I took my phone out and gave Vincent a call. I gave him two instructions. The first was to make arrangements for Susan to clean the bathrooms. The second was about the issue of Simon Landry. Simon and Billy were close, and this proved there was something flawed with his character. I got Vincent to investigate him. If there was indeed something wrong with him, he should be immediately fired. We were almost at school by the time I was done with Vincent. Chris’ call came in at this moment. “Freddie, we’ve asked around, and someone claimed they saw Nadia going to Sky Lake.” “Sky Lake? I’m nearby. I’ll look for her.” “Hurry up. What if she can’t take it and jumps into the lake?” “Got it.” Lorne heard my conversation on the phone and immediately made an emergency U-turn without me needing to say a word. We quickly headed toward Sky Lake. When I arrived at Sky Lake, I found Nadia there. She was standing by the lake and staring at it in a daze. I quietly panicked. She really was planning to jump into the lake. I was worried I would agitate her by being too obvious with my actions, so I stood about fifteen feet away from her to say, “Nadia, calm down. You don’t need to do this. Don’t worry. I’ll help you get your revenge. Why don’t you take a few steps back from the lake?” Nadia turned toward me when she heard my voice. There were mixed emotions in her eyes. “I can’t believe you’re telling me this. You’re the reason I’m here today.” “Nadia, it’s not fair to say that. If you hadn’t started it…” I was immediately defensive. However, halfway through my sentence, I realized I should not say such a thing. Thus, I gave her an embarrassed smile and said, “It’s my fault. It’s entirely my fault. Why don’t you take a few steps back and let us have a proper discussion on how to solve this?” I moved forward a little as I spoke, trying to get nearer to Nadia. “There’s nothing here for us to discuss. Go away. You’re making me even more frustrated!” Nadia said brusquely. “I know why you’re frustrated. It’s because they said we f****d, right? But you know very well that what we did didn’t count. I didn’t move at all.” “Didn’t count?” Nadia was angered now. She said in a huff, “Freddie, are you here today to piss me off? I was in so much pain that day I thought I was about to die, and you’re saying it didn’t count? Was I f****d by a dog?!” “You’re right, you’re right, you’re absolutely right.” I continued agreeing with her. I suddenly lunged at her while she was agitated and hugged her tightly in my arms. Nadia’s face turned red when I suddenly hugged her. She was embarrassed and angry. “Freddie, what are you hugging me for? Let me go now!” “I’m not letting you go, or you’ll try to commit suicide. Is it even worth it to do that over something like this?” I continued talking her down. “Commit suicide?” Nadia was puzzled. “Who said I was committing suicide?” “If you’re not committing suicide, what are you doing here?” “I’m here to clear my head!” “Urm…” I was a little confused. Was this all a misunderstanding? “You’re really not lying to me?” “Of course I’m not lying to you. I would have jumped long ago if I wanted to commit suicide. Would I even have waited for you to come and stop me?” “This won’t do. You still have to come back to the school with me.” With that, I bent over and carried her in my arms. Nadia’s face turned redder when she was in my arms. Her slender, fair little feet kicked about in the air. “Freddie, what are you doing? Put me down now. There’s a lot of people watching us.” “No, I won’t. I need to bring you safely back to school.” “Put me down now. I’m really not contemplating suicide. It took me so much to finally return to school. How could I give up on myself so easily? I was just thinking about how to counterattack those people.” I was slightly convinced when she said that. Nadia was not someone who would give up easily. Otherwise, she would not have given me her first time in order to continue staying at school. At this thought, I put her back down on the ground. I huffed as I said, “You’re pretty heavy. I’m so tired now.” No woman would like hearing such a thing, and Nadia was no exception. She looked at me, grim-faced at my words. “That’s ridiculous. How am I heavy? You’re the one who’s weak.” “I’m weak?” There was aggression in my eyes as I brushed up against her long, slender legs. “Would you still think that if I got a room with you right now?”
