Chapter 108

1568 Words
Montana’s aunt brought her daughter in after a few minutes. I was stunned to see who it was. Her daughter was none other than Rue Bale, the property manager who had tried to seduce me at Scenic Villa a few days before! No wonder I had found her familiar. It was because she was related to Montana. Just as I was sizing Rue up, Rue noticed me too. A look of shock and panic crossed her face. However, Montana’s aunt did not notice this and continued rambling. “Rue, let me introduce you. This is Montana’s fiancé, a filthy rich man. I’ve heard that his assets are worth millions upon millions. Everyone is talking about how Montana is living the best life in our family, even better than you are.” Montana’s aunt claimed to be introducing us, but she was clearly brewing trouble. She knew there was unhappiness between Montana and Rue, and she said this on purpose to get them both to butt heads. However, she was about to be disappointed. Rue stayed silent after Montana’s aunt was done talking. She did not continue the conversation. A look of surprise appeared on Montana’s aunt’s face. She gave her daughter a nudge. “Rue, what’s wrong with you? Why do you look so out of sorts? Were you carsick on the way here?” “I’m fine, Mom. Our relatives were right. Montana chose a good husband. I don’t think I can ever achieve that in my lifetime,” Rue mumbled. Anyone who heard her words could spot the jealousy within them. Montana’s aunt was taken aback. She said in disbelief, “Rue, what nonsense am I hearing? Didn’t you tell me before that many rich and affluent men were courting you? Why are you acting so dejected right now? What’s going on with you?” “Mum, nothing was going to happen between me and those men I mentioned. As for Montana, she’s marrying a true billionaire.” With that, she extended her hand to me. “We meet again, Mr. Freddie Lang.” “Yes, we meet again.” I smiled and reached my hand out to shake Rue’s hand. This unexpected scene stunned everyone present. Montana’s aunt called out in shock, “Rue, how do you know each other?” “Mom, Freddie’s my customer. Of course I would know him.” “Customer?” There was a look of disbelief on Montana’s aunt’s face. “That’s impossible. Didn’t you tell me the property you were selling costs tens of millions and only a truly wealthy person would be able to afford them? I don’t see how Freddie can be from a wealthy family at all.” “Mom, you should stop looking down on others. You could say that Freddie is rich and affluent, even if he’s alone and doesn’t have a great family name.” Rich and affluent alone and without a great family name? Montana’s aunt was shocked into silence when she heard this. As for the others, they looked shocked as well. They chuckled and said, “Rue, you shouldn’t exaggerate. What do you mean by great family name? We’re all family here.” “Freddie, my dear nephew, did you buy Montana a house? And it’s a villa worth tens of millions?” Montana’s uncle, Tim Bale, said enviously. “Well…” I paused, not knowing how to explain this. The villa had been bought for Layla, but now that Rue had mentioned it, I could not hide it even if I wanted to. “Actually, I wanted to surprise Montana, but since you’ve all found out about it, there’s no use hiding it any longer. That’s right, I bought her a villa in Lover’s Bay at Ocean City, the villa district that Rue works at.” “Each villa there is probably worth tens of millions, am I right?” Tim asked enviously. “That’s right. They are worth tens of millions each. It’s nothing if I can marry Montana. It’s just a villa and nothing worth mentioning.” I quietly made the decision to give Morris a call once we returned to Ocean City. I was going to get him to reserve a villa for me, otherwise, I would be easily exposed. “My dear nephew, you do hide your wealth well. Not everyone is capable of purchasing a villa worth tens of millions just like that. No wonder Rue says that you’re a truly wealthy man… We can now stop worrying about Montana now that she’s marrying you,” Tim said with a look of relief. “That’s right. How lucky that Montana’s going to marry you.” “No, we’re the lucky ones, because Montana is marrying you.” Everyone began flattering me, each heaping higher praises on me than the last with much exaggeration. I could not stand watching them trying to curry favor with me, so I made some excuse about visiting the washroom. I had just managed to catch my breath and was about to return when I knocked into Rue, bumping right into her busty bosoms. Rue did not seem to mind me bumping into her boobs. Instead, she said happily, “Are you heading back in there, Young Master Lang? How about a chat?” “There’s nothing I have to say to you.” I turned to leave. However, Rue suddenly said, “Montana isn’t your fiancee, is she?” “What are you trying to ask?” I stopped walking and turned to look at Rue coldly. “Nothing. I’ve met your fiancee before. It’s superstar Layla Owens. She’s the only one worthy of you.” “What exactly are you trying to say?” My expression turned quite grim. “What I’m trying to say is simple. Montana is just your mistress, which means that I’m not that far from who she is to you, aren’t I?” Rue chuckled as she said. She was still in the mood to compete against Montana. “Hoho, there’s no way you can compare to her.” I prepared to leave at that. However, Rue stopped me, refusing to let me leave. “Young Master Lang, don’t be so quick to leave. How about we make a deal?” “What deal?” I frowned. “I’ll keep your secret, but you have to take me as your mistress. How does that sound?” Rue puffed up her chest and said with confidence. “Are you threatening me?” My face went darker. “This isn’t a threat. We’re just negotiating a deal, Young Master Lang. If you’re able to accept Montana, why not me? Besides not having breasts as large as hers, what else does she beat me at? I have a higher education, a body shape more slender than she does, and I’m a virgin.” Rue listed out each of her merits. “That's enough!” I stopped her heartlessly. “Just remember this: there is no way you can compare to Montana. Also, take care of what you say. If I find any trace of rumors about this, I’ll make sure you won’t be able to bear the consequences!!” With that, I angrily left. … The engagement party went on smoothly because everyone found out who I was. No one dared continue humiliating me and Montana. There was only flattery and praise. Montana and I returned home immediately after the engagement party. It could be because this issue had been taken care of, which was why Montana seemed especially happy. She skipped all the way home, humming a happy song. However, I was troubled about how to explain the villa to Montana. “Montana, about the villa…” “There’s no need for you to explain anything to me, Freddie. I know that you didn’t buy that villa for me. You must have a lot of women out there. Am I right?” “I…” This completely took me completely by surprise. I had no idea that Montana would find out about this. “Don’t worry. I won’t bother you about that. I can’t give you a marriage nor bear you any children, which is why I’m giving you absolute freedom. From now on, all you need to do is accompany me whenever I’m feeling unhappy and come home to this cozy little place that belongs to both of us. That’s enough to make me happy…” “Do you really think that?” I was quite shocked. I had no idea Montana would be so magnanimous. “I do, I really do think this way. I don’t want to be like my mother, who was trapped in her marriage. I won’t ask of you anything that I’m unable to give you. Don’t worry. I just hope that our relationship can be a smooth one, just like it was before.” “Alright. I understand.” I was deeply relieved that Montana had cleared this up. Managing my relationships with my various women was something I had always had a headache with. Even if they have not crossed paths yet, what if their paths crossed some day in the future? “Freddie, there’s really no need to worry about me. Now that the engagement party is over, let’s go to the hospital. My mum will be so happy to find out about us.”
