I lay in bed at home, thinking about how to help Nadia.

They were just a small society, so they should not actually require a large sponsorship.

Nadia would probably be able to win with one or two million.

The problem I had now was how to give her the money.

If I gave her too little, it would not have any effect. If I gave her too much, how would I explain the source of the money?

“It’s like this. Mr. Quinn put in a motion for me to be impeached during our board meeting. I know that Mr. Quinn is your subordinate. Can you let me off on the account that I’ve been with the company for a long time?”

Simon begged me in a low voice.

He would have knelt in front of me if not for the people walking around.

“Ho, look at all those dirty deals you made, thinking no one would ever discover them. You deserve to be impeached.”

“Mr. Chairman, it was just a moment’s weakness on my part. Please, let me off on the account that I have fought and worked hard for this company for so many years. As long as you’re willing to let me off, I’m willing to return the construction company I’m in charge of to the group.”

“Well…”

I hesitated. “What’s your company’s value?”

“It’s worth at least thirty million.”

“Thirty million?”

I grunted. Suddenly, an idea came to me. “Let’s do this. You don’t need to return the company to the group. I have a girlfriend who is the president of the entrepreneur society at our school. She currently requires sponsorship for her society. Sponsor her a sum of money under your construction company’s name. If you do this well, I’ll consider letting you off.”

“Are you serious?” Simon’s depressed look turned to joy. “How much would you like me to sponsor her?”

“That would depend on your sincerity,” I chuckled as I said.

“I understand, I completely understand. I’ll head to the school right now. She’s the president of the entrepreneur society, right? I’ll give her the money personally,” Simon said with slight agitation.

“By the way, just give her the money. Don’t tell her you’re following my orders, understand? Make up some reason.”

“I understand, I understand.” Simon was delighted.

“Alright, go ahead.”

After class was over the next day, I rushed straight to the entrepreneur society’s meeting.

This was an important meeting for the entrepreneur society as they were about to choose the next president and also reveal the value of the venture capital funds raised this year. That was why many of their members were present.

As there were too many people, they made a last-minute decision to change the meeting venue from the meeting room to the screening room.

The room was full by three-thirty.

Even though the entrepreneur society was just a school club, it was the most popular club in school. The society gave out venture capital funds worth millions to students every year.

I took my phone and left the screening room. I called Simon on the phone.

“Simon, what’s going on? Didn’t I ask you to provide sponsorship? Why does my girlfriend have less than a hundred thousand put together?” I asked Simon angrily.

“That’s impossible!” Simon denied this. “Mr. Chairman, I’ve given her the money. It’s thirty million in total, and I was even given a receipt.”

“What? You were given a receipt? Whose name is on it?”

“Roxy Pearson. Isn’t she your girlfriend?” Simon was confused.

I immediately understood what was going on when he told me that. I was exasperated. “You’ve got it wrong. She’s not my girlfriend. My girlfriend is Nadia Williams.”

“That’s not right. Roxy said she was the president of the entrepreneur society. That was why I gave her the money.”

“Could we have surpassed the million-dollar mark?”

“We must have surpassed a million, otherwise the emcee wouldn’t be so shocked. I’m guessing it could be two or three million.”

Everyone began talking about it off-stage.

The host smiled mysteriously when he heard them talking about it. “You can stop guessing, everyone. You wouldn’t be able to guess this sum even if you tried. Allow me to announce the final results! This year, our society has managed to put together a total of thirty million!!”

“Thirty million???”

Everyone was shocked at the announcement!

They would have thought they heard wrongly if not for the emcee emphasizing it a few times.

“That’s right, thirty million! That’s a huge sponsorship which was acquired by our vice president, Roxy Pearson. Next, let’s invite her up on the stage to speak to us.”

With that, the emcee passed the microphone to Roxy.

I turned to look. It was none other than Simon, who had rushed all the way here!
