Chapter Forty-six: A Strang Desire
THAT EVENING.
Lesley narrated to Bill and Margaret how Gerald had refused to give his consent for the sale of her shares.
Bill's heart pounded following the news.
He had less than 48 hours before the shareholder's window closes and the shares get sold to an outside investor.
He knew other shareholders were rallying to rack up the majority shares but he was quite confident they wouldn't be able to come up with the lumpsum.
None of them had the capacity to spring up any surprises, so the offer was his to lose—or perhaps Philip's.
But why was Gerald proving a stumbling block to his quest? If only the annoying brat knew his consent would directly aide his father's ploys.
