Bella woke up to find that she was still wrapped up in Aiden’s arms. The realisation instantly brought a smile to her face, and she looked up slowly to find that he was still fast asleep, his brows knitted together with his lips slightly parted.
Her smile grew even wider as Aiden instinctively pulled her closer to him. She loved the way his scent invaded every part of her mind, and how strong his arms felt around her. She felt safe here, and that was all that really mattered.
He shifted slightly, then winced as his face contorted in pain. Bella immediately reached out to touch his bare chest, just to make sure that he wasn’t building up a fever. She didn’t know when he was likely to get better, but the doctor said it would take a few more days before he was back to full health.
