Even from the way Bella walked in, Aiden knew that something was wrong. He didn’t even need to see the vacant expression on her face, or how unfocused her eyes were as she stepped into the room.
“Bella?” he whispered in the semidarkness.
She merely looked up at him, and then he saw the tears in her eyes.
“Jesus, Bella,” he exclaimed, opening his arms towards her. Bella didn’t even hesitate before she stepped into his embrace, breaking down completely. Aiden’s heart sank, and he wondered why she was suddenly like this.
