The beginning of the end
"No, you shouldn't leave me"
Her tears fell on the window panel. She was moved by what Castor said. He was in love with her and so was she. Their love and bond could never be broken. Their pack's differences was trying to create a bridge between them.
Castor was hanging on the edge of one of the trees closest to her window. It was an oak tree. With the strength of a shifter, he was able to drift and maintain balance, he sat on the branch with ease like a balloon will float on water without sinking.
"I know my love, so won't I" Castor replied. Knowing fully well the consequences of his decision.
"Wipe away your tears and stop crying because that hurts my feelings ".
It was same every midnight, Castor will meet Adriella. Sitting on the Oak's branch closest to her room's window, he will sing the raven's love song, it was a tune that ignites their feelings together and keeps their love alive. At first, Adriella will open the window and with a smile on her face, will call him by his name, the moonlight illuminating his presence. They will profess their love for each other. Castor will then go on to tell her tales of his adventures and that of his forefathers, the ancient alphas of his pack. Adriella will listen and giggle on the jokes Castor will c***k.
But apparently, things have taken a different turn tonight. Adriella was an orphan and the only daughter of her father's pack 'The lonefox'. The Ironclaws and the Lonefox were nemesis. Both packs do not see eye to eye on matters. Infact, they won't hesitate to attack one another when ever they meet. The Ironclaws are the alpha 's while the Lonefox were the betas. Their feud started a long time ago. It was this night, that Castor revealed to her the pack he belongs to. To Adriella utmost dismay, it was the Ironclaws.
"But, our families won't allow us to get together. They won't permit our union." Adriella said. Her feelings compounded with discontentedness and depression.
"To hell with their decisions. I will go against their rules , even if it costs me my life. I am in love with you. That is what matters to me. You matter to me. Our pack differences aside".Castor replied boldly.
Adriella looked at him and wished that was true. She wished their packs were at peace but that was far from happening.
She could see within him, the confidence he possesses as an alpha. It was one of the traits, she loves about him.
"It won't do us any good if you are dead." Adriella reminded Castor that despite the fact, he was brave and willing to sacrifice his life for their love , he was more important to her if he was alive . As an adage say: A life wolf is better than a dead one.
"I understand my love. As the new alpha of my pack after my uncle, I will keep us safe. That i have sworn."
"Castor! "
Adriella leaned her full length on the window , tilting her head forward. The man on the tree branch, did same. They kissed. It was a little passionate but it could serve as a peck.
"...I don't want you hurt" she said.
"So do i" Castor concurred.
"Did you hear that?" Castor said looking down towards the woods from the oak tree.
"What?" Adriella asked.
Their was a kind of twitching sound in the woods at the house yard, Adriella have not been paying attention because her focus was drawn on their conversation, but Castor with his alpha prowess has been hearing the intruder 's growl.
Castor with ease dropped to the ground from the tree, he noticed a figure in the woods. At first he thought he was being delusional but, it seems their was a figure lurking in the thickets in Adriella's compound. When he landed on the ground. The figure charged at him. He struggled with the figure at the ground as both rolled and tumbled. And it appears to be a werewolf, but from the moonlit Adriella could not see enough to know if it is a beta or an alpha. Adriella yelled and screamed. She then proceeded to go downstairs. When she arrived at the oak tree, the werewolf was gone. She had to check on Castor who sustained a few minor injuries. Apparently, Castor was lieing on the ground.
"Who is that?" Adriella asked.
"Well, I don't know who he or she was. He ran off before I could get a clear look of his face. " Castor replied.
"Where?" Adriella asked.
"I don't know"
"Do you think is an eavesdropper from your pack who found out about our love?" Castor asked.
"No, I don't think so" Adriella said.
" I must get going as it is unsafe to be here" Castor said. Managing to stand, he kissed Adriella then leaped into the the thicket, scrambling to make his way home.
Adriella stared at him for a while, goes upstairs and closes the window in her room. She then managed to sleep after pangs of thinking and restlessness. Her thoughts plummeted on the idea that their relationship has been compromised, who attacked Castor?. Well she did not know and she feels so unsafe. Well, she managed to sleep for the night.
Meanwhile, it seems the werewolf was still in the woods.
"The so called 'Future Alpha' is going against our rules. I must report this to Regzarion."
It took one wicked last glance at the closed window above , breathing heavily. It left.
