BRITTANY'S POV:
"Dang it!" Alia yelled, her voice piercing through the air as she stormed out of the classroom, slamming the door so hard it made the windows tremble.
I stared after her, stunned. The entire class fell into an awkward silence for a moment before Dawn broke it.
"What’s wrong with her?" she asked, glancing at me.
"Don’t ask me," Dwayne said, leaning back in her seat with a smirk. "But I think I know why our little villain is losing her mind."
"Care to share with the rest of us?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"Let’s just say," Dwayne began, twirling a strand of her hair, "Alia can’t handle seeing her beloved Mycseen showing attention to someone else."
Dawn snickered. "You mean Brittany?"
"Exactly," Dwayne replied, grinning.
"Ugh, you two are impossible," I said, rolling my eyes.
Dwayne suddenly leaned towards me with an exaggerated grin. "Brittany, my bestie!"
I narrowed my eyes at her, suspicious. "What do you want, Dwayne?"
"Nothing," she said innocently, though the mischievous look in her eyes betrayed her.
"Oh, Dwayne, I get the message," I replied, laughing despite myself.
Dawn crossed her arms, pretending to be offended. "Hey, why don’t I ever get this kind of love, huh?"
Dwayne smirked. "Because you’re too busy being my twin and stealing my style."
Dawn gasped dramatically. "Stealing your style? Please! If anything, I’m the original, and you’re the knockoff!"
The two of them bickered playfully while I shook my head, amused. For a moment, everything felt lighthearted, like Alia’s outburst had never happened. But something deep down told me this wasn’t the end of it.
MYCSEEN'S POV:
Hugging Brittany… I couldn’t stop replaying it in my head. It wasn’t just the act itself, it was how natural it had felt, how she fit so perfectly against me.
I shook my head, annoyed with myself. "Snap out of it, Mycseen," I muttered as I stepped out of the class. "You don’t have time for this kind of distraction."
But my irritation shifted to anger as I remembered what had happened earlier. Alia had crossed the line. She’d threatened Brittany, an innocent girl who hadn’t done anything to deserve her spite.
My hands clenched into fists as I stalked down the hallway. I needed to put an end to her nonsense, once and for all.
And then I saw her, leaning casually against a locker like she hadn’t just caused chaos earlier. The moment she noticed me, her face lit up, and she straightened her posture.
"Mycseen!" she called out, her voice dripping with fake sweetness. "What brings you here?"
I stopped in front of her, my expression cold. "Alia, stay away from Brittany."
Her smile faltered for a second before she quickly recovered. "What? Why would you think…"
"Don’t play dumb," I interrupted sharply. "I know what you did, and I’m warning you: if you threaten her again, you’ll regret it. That’s not a threat, it’s a fact."
She blinked, stunned by the harshness in my tone. Then, to my disgust, she smiled again and reached out to touch my hand.
"Mycseen, listen," she began, her voice soft and pleading. "I just…"
"Don’t touch me," I snapped, pulling my hand away and shoving her back.
"Ouch!" she cried out, clutching her arm.
"You think this is a joke?" I asked, my voice dangerously low. "The next time you go after her, Alia, I swear it won’t end with just a warning."
Without waiting for her response, I turned and walked away, leaving her standing there. My heart was still racing, but this time, it wasn’t from anger alone.
ALIA'S POV:
I stood there, my hand throbbing from where Mycseen had pushed me, and watched him walk away. My chest tightened as a wave of humiliation washed over me.
"He pushed me… because of her," I whispered to myself, unable to believe it.
Tears stung my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. No, I wouldn’t cry, not over him, not over this.
Instead, I let the anger take over. Mycseen had humiliated me, and Brittany was the reason for it. That hug… that stupid, disgusting hug.
"She’ll pay," I murmured, a twisted smile forming on my lips. "Brittany will regret ever coming here. I’ll make sure of it."
The plan was already forming in my head. By the time I was done, she wouldn’t just leave the school, she’d wish she’d never even met Mycseen.
BRITTANY'S POV:
Back in the classroom, the laughter between Dwayne, Dawn, and me had died down. I couldn’t help but glance toward the door every few seconds.
Finally, Dwayne noticed. "What’s up with you?" she asked, nudging me with her elbow.
"I don’t know," I admitted. "I just… feel uneasy. Like something’s about to happen."
Dawn frowned. "You’re thinking about Alia, aren’t you?"
I nodded slowly.
"Look, Brittany," Dwayne said, her voice firm. "You don’t have to worry about her. Mycseen put her in her place, and if she tries anything else, I’ll personally deal with her."
"But…"
"No buts!" Dwayne cut me off. "You’re not alone in this, okay? We’ve got your back."
I managed a small smile. "Thanks, Dwayne. That means a lot."
Still, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right. And then, as if on cue, the door creaked open slightly.
I turned, half-expecting to see Alia standing there. But the hallway was empty.
"Britt, are you okay?" Dawn asked, her voice laced with concern.
I nodded quickly, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling. "Yeah… I’m fine."
But I wasn’t. Deep down, I knew this wasn’t over.
