Waking up to the news that Shaw wasn’t going to be a bother anymore was uplifting. And so was the delightful breakfast that Aisha had prepared for me.
The universe had finally aligned to me, if that is a thing. My father and godfather had dealt with Duke Shaw. He was now one less problem in my life. No longer a threat to Amber’s safety.
Godfather had assured me that Shaw was gone for good. Out of town never to return, maybe. Or he was long dead, which is for the best. During the call I don’t bother asking what they had done to him. The world needed one less scumbag. And Duke was the worse of the worst. Good riddan
