Made Of Blue

Mason stood afar off watching the blue light grow bigger and bigger until it started coming closer to him. His heart was beating so fast and he started to sweat profusely. The blue light formed some Latin words - similar to the ones he found on the glowing scroll. As a matter of fact, the writings repeated the inscriptions on the scroll. Mason got so scared that he almost started using his fingers to climb out of the ditch, when the glowing blue sphere started emitting similar radiations to the ones emitted by the moon a couple of days ago. One needed no further hint to know that this was the heavy source of Macmillium the authorities had been looking for all year. In the twinkle of an eye, the glowing object bursted out a ray into Mason's chest and the lad screamed as loud as he could. The object gave all it's energy to Mason who effectively absorbed it. His Iris turned blue similar to the color of the radiation he was being exposed to and he soon fell on his knees. After a while the entire source of Macmillium was exhausted as it had been fully contained by Mason's body. He wailed in pain and a burst of blue flames from the ditch followed shortly. The sound of the outburst made all the children having fun at the event to panic. Maddie saw the flame from afar off and didn't scramble for the safety like the other kids. She only pulled down her glasses and smiled. Max wasn't scared as well - he continued attempting shots at the rim as if nothing had happened. The policemen saw the outburst of the blue flames from the nearby ditch and so they wanted to get close to it. They held their guns firmly and moved towards the incident. The cops had barely reached the narrow hole when Mason defied gravitational pull and levitated out of the hole, engulfed in the fiery blue flames - he wasn't being consumed by the fire! He opened his eyes and his iris shone blue; contrasting it's original black colour. The cops were frightened to death and they held their guns straight at him. The taller of the two cops yelled - "I don't know what prank you're trying to play kid. You better stop it and submit yourself for questioning". "No guys its me. I'm not playing any prank" said Mason. As the young lad tried raising up his arms to indicate his innocence; while still floating in the air, the officers got frightened the more - they pulled the trigger as many times as they could at the figure who's identity wasn't yet certain to them. Mason slowed down time, stopping all the bullets with the tips of his fingers - to the officers he appeared to be stopping all their bullets with supersonic speed. He edged away all the bullets until the officers were out of ammo and they took to their heels. Mason then landed on the ground after floating in the air for a couple of minutes. It appeared the Guardian's powers had found him at long last. He looked into the ditch and saw the broken pieces of the vase. He really wanted to return the vase to the Seattle City Museum. So he jumped back into the hole - knowing he could levitate back out of it. He looked closely at the pieces and as he put his hands across the width of the broken pieces, a blue spark formed on both of his hands with a characteristic crackling sound - this caused the pieces to raise themselves above the ground rotating round a particular circumference. He put his hands at the sides of the revolving pieces and spontaneously the pieces of the vase started to assemble until it looked as if were a brand new vase. Relieved to see the vase back in one piece he laughed but he couldn't hide his inquisition - What had just happened to him? How did he just scare the hell out of two qualified police officers? All these and many more definitely needed answers. He felt a burning energy inside of him - like he could run round the great wall of China without releasing a single drop of sweat. He rose back out of the pitch with the vase in his hands. He walked for about five minutes before he saw Maddie, Max and Cherry running towards him. The party had been abruptly stopped due to the occurrence of yet another unexplainable happening in Seattle. Mason wobbled from left to right until he finally reached his siblings and his Mom. Maddie; who had been unsuccessful in her quest for the last big resort of Macmillium on Planet Earth, collected the vase from her big brother's hands - preventing it from shattering into pieces for the second time in barely an hour. Mason fainted and fell into Max's arms after Maddie had carried the vase in his hands. His eyes closed slowly and while he leaned his jaw on his younger brother's shoulders, he looked up to the sky and saw eight stars arranged in a circular order with a blue star shining brightest at the center. He lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital immediately. That very night marked the start of a long crazy adventure! Somewhere deep in outer space, beyond the galaxies and atop the nine universes, eight gods who guarded the other universes, in this galaxy sat round about each other. They were discussing about how they handed the ninth god's powers to an exuberant teenager who would need to understand the responsibilities that come with his power. While all the other gods had initially refuted the decision, the supreme guardian amongst them all, reinforced that he was the one who chose Mason and no one could overrule his decision, knowing fully well that there was absolutely nothing they could do to make him reverse his choice. The ninth universe needed a warrior to protect it and enough time had been wasted in selecting a worthy heir to the late Lord Naphtaloz - guardian of the ninth universe. However, the characters which the supreme guardian saw in Mason remained unspoken. Back on planet earth, Mason slowly started to regain his consciousness. As he opened his eyes, the first face he saw was Maddie's and Max's. The two had been worried sick about their big brother. Cherry and the kids slept beside the bed on which Mason was placed in the hospital. "What happened?" muffled Mason. "Well to start with, you passed out yesterday night!" said Max - direct as ever. "So the doctors ran some minor tests on you and found out that there's actually nothing wrong with you...you just fainted...out of exhaustion" said Maddie. "So they concluded that we could take you home once you..." said Cherry before being interrupted by Mason. "The vase! Where's the vase?" said Mason. "Oh Dad helped us take that to the apartment...you'll be doing some explanation on that later" said Cherry. "Phew! Thank goodness that's safe" said Mason with relief boldly written on his face. "Let's head home then!" said Maddie. Mason got out of his bed after the nurse in charge of his room had checked him up one last time and within thirty minutes, they were back at Boulevard Brooks. They all checked in and moved into the elevator nearby. While they moved up the elevator, Cherry thought the time was right to ask the kids whether they had found new friends as she hoped. "So kids did you make some new buddies just as I asked you to?" asked Cherry. Her question was followed by perpetual murmurs from all three of her children. None of them providing a coherent answer as she watched on in amusement. "Max?" asked Cherry. "No I didn't make no friends...I was busy playing some basketball competition at the park" answered Max. "Maddie?" asked Cherry. "Nah...I was Uh...playing 'ride the pony" said Maddie. Both Max and Mase knew she was lying but the 'sibling code' meant she wasn't going to be exposed. The sibling code is a common pact among most modern day siblings which didn't allow siblings to 'snitch' on siblings - crazy rule indeed! Maddie widened her smile to indicate her innocence. "Mason?" asked Cherry yet again. "I actually made friends with this girl called Madonna...she's super nice and she works as an apprentice at the Seattle Funderland" said Mason. Maddison and Maximilian could hardly believe it. "Nice one Mason...I'm proud of you!" said Cherry. "Fist Pump?!" yelled Cherry again as Mason jams his knuckles against his mom's in a modern form of contemporary greetings. "How is Mom so sure he ain't making this up?" whispered Max to Maddison who chuckled in response. Cherry pulled out her mobile phone to take a selfie with her three little heroes. Not long after, the 'ding' sound of the elevator indicated that they had arrived at their floor. "Hey kids" Mr Riecke said, getting up from his couch to come meet his family.
