Cole saw the horror in his pack member's eyes. He heard the instantaneous uproar from the packs; no Alpha had disbanded a pack before, at least that had been recorded. Pack members, council members, guards, the pack members rushed the stage, some trying to protect Selene and Cole and others trying to get to them. It was a mess of bodies, limbs and indiscernible shouting.
Suddenly, Cole heard Selene yelp as someone tried to pull her behind him and past Lydia. Without warning, Xerxes thrust himself forward in Cole's mind, forcing him to shift.
