I had expected the elders to get in my way, that was no surprise at all. Which is why I was quite prepared for them. It would have been off if I did not show any reaction to Brenda's disappearance and they would begin to speak to me on negligence, but then it would have been even more strange if I had actually gone out of my way to find her.
“What is not appropriate? I want the funeral to be done quietly and quickly..."
Of course I could not go without burying the dead, and I would hold a more formal one when I come back, from the looks of things the doctor had become shameless
