Bassan stared at the screen, excitement bubbling up from the center of his being. After hours of searching, after countless dead ends, the back door loomed before him.
Barnenden appeared at his elbow. You found it?
Yes. Nine trips back to the past, but I found it.

He typed in a command and a new configuration of code appeared on the screen. A jolt shot through his system and Bassan sucked in a quick gulp of air. I believe I can. It’ll take some time.
