Evan's Pov:

Why did I agree to leave the pack I'm not ready to meet my mate if she belongs to that pack. I know Mia wants me to be happy and find love but I'm just broken what girl would want someone like me. I'm known as the ex-alpha who went crazy. This was not a good idea maybe she won't be in that pack I mean chances are slim that she is and who knows maybe I can help this girl and then come home.

"Don't say that mate will love us don't you want her", Drake whines through our bond. "Of course I do", I tell him honestly. "Okay then stop thinking she will reject us", He shouts before going back to sleep. 

"I'm back", I say walking into the office where Brent is sitting. "So when you going to Golden Moon", he asks catching me off guard. "Wait you knew already of course you did you know everything that goes on", I say making him roll his eyes. "I do not all though I do know most things", he says going back to work. "Of course you do", I laugh and roll my eyes. 

"Hey can I ask you something", I say making Brent look over at me. "Yeah I'm always willing to help", he says stopping what he was doing. "When you told Elaine about your past how did she take it", I ask him and he gives me a knowing look. "Your worried that when you find your mate she will reject because of the things in your past", he ask and I sigh and nod in response. "Well first she cried and was slightly horrified by it but she knew I had to obey my former king I couldn't defy his order no matter how much I wanted to and believe me I wanted to but I couldn't I was bound to him she knew this she saw the real me not the demon", he tell s me.

"When you find your second chance she will accept you and your past she will see you for you she'll help you through the dark times better than anyone else can because that's what mates do trust me on this you aren't a bad guy you never were David used you as a pawn in his twisted plan made you do horrible things she will understand this and help you see the good inside you just as Elaine does with me", he explains.

"Your right maybe finding her won't be so bad", I say hoping he is right. "Do you think you will find her at Golden Moon", he asks. "I don't know it's just Mia seemed like she knew something that I didn't", I tell him and he nods in understanding. "Our usually does know things before others her power of sight is stronger than mine", he says proudly. "True but that's a good thing our world is better a better place now that those two have taken the throne everyone finally living in peace with the exception of minor conflicts occasionally", I say thinking back on everything that's happened.

"Oh and Liam is gonna is sending Nicholas to investigate Wesley's case", I tell him. "That's good if there's anything to find he'll he will", Brent says. "That is true I wanna get this kid help before something bad happens", I tell Brent making him laugh. "You talk like your some old man when in reality your not much older than he is", He says laughing. "You would know how old are now", I ask him with a smirk as he sends me a glare. "My age is not important", he says trying to hid a smile.

"So when are leaving", he asks changing the subject. "The end of the week I have to make arrangements and sign off on a few things", I tell him making him sigh. "You work to much you need to relax a bit", Brent says in a scolding tone like he's talking to a kid but I guess to him I am one. "You know why I don't", I tell him putting some files away after signing them. "Yes I do know but over working yourself is not gonna help", he says and I know he care but relaxing is hard for me. "Okay Dad", I tell him jokingly and I can feel him rolling his eye as I laugh.

After I finish work for the day I hurry home and grab some dinner. I had just eating when Max walks in followed by Mia. "Hey man you ready", Max asks and I roll my eyes at as I out my plate in the sink. "You ever heard of knocking", I ask him. "I told him to knock", Mia says with a smile. "Whatever let's just go", Max grumbles as me and Mia laugh.

"So heard your leaving us for awhile", Max says as we begin walking to the woods. "Only for awhile it was your sisters and our kings idea", I tell him. "It'll be good for you and besides you'll be helping someone and you like doing that right", Mia says with an hint of amusement in her eyes meaning she definitely knows something and isn't telling. "Your up to something", I say pointing my finger at her making her laugh. "Who me never she", says shifting and running before I can ask what her game is. "I wouldn't worry whatever it is you know it won't be bad and you know she's never gonna tell you", Max laughs before shifting and chasing after his twin.

"Max is right whatever our queen knows is most likely something that will help us in the long run", Drake says. " I know but I wish she would tell me it is our life", I tell him. "True but knowing the way she does she probably figures if you knew then you'd runaway from whatever it is she's hiding Now shift and let me out", Drake says.

The rest of the evening is nice Drake and Eli chase each other occasionally biting each other and play fighting. Mia mostly watches but joins in ever now and then. Seeing Eli get annoyed when his sister would pin him was fun to watch. I can't help but remember the good times before everything bad happened when the three of us would play in the forest as kids. Mia would pretend to be queen and Max and I would have to fight the monsters to save her I guess in a some ways our childhood came true. I'm knocked out of my thoughts by a yelping Eli I look over and see Ariel has pinned him again and I can't help but laugh which comes out as more of a wolf snort.
