Chapter Twenty

Alpha Richard

The wind was blowing through my fur, calming me with each stride that I took.  I had told the boys to meet me for an early run in wolf form, we all needed to be focused and calm before meeting the Alpha’s from the Blue Wave Pack.  In all my years of being an Alpha I had not come across two more despicable people.  Being an Alpha was a massive responsibility, to be taken seriously.  You were not there for personal gain but rather to act as a decision maker, for your pack.  It was a difficult task leading, you had to be firm, caring, always looking at the bigger picture.  My father had brought me up the same way I had brought up my boys.  To respect your position, lead with dignity, mates and family were people to be treasured.  Reis and Leo had killed their father and were now taking advantage of their position of strength.  There is nothing lower in my mind than someone who abuses their power, rejects their mate and tries to force others to be with them.  If even half of what Jonathan and her girls had told us was true, they deserved everything the Masters were going to inflict on them.  

My train of thought shifted as I heard Chase talking to me through mindlink.  “Do you think the prophecy is true?  Do you think a war is coming?”  I had to think about it for a while…

“If the Master’s believe it, so do I, If they believe the girls are the key, then so do I. They have never spoken a false word to us before.”

I could feel the tension that Kai and Chase were both feeling.  Naturally they were concerned about their mates, but they were Mated to the Power of the Lavarose.  When they reach their full power, no one will be able to stop them.  

“Kai, Chase, you two have been blessed with very powerful mates, the Moon Goddess herself has seen your strength and pureness of heart.  She has specifically chosen you to be their mates.  Whatever happens, know that I am so proud of you both.  We will work together, work with the masters and the girls, good will triumph over evil.!”

I can feel them begin to relax, the run helping us to calm our wolves.  I need to be calm, dignified, ensure that Reis and Leo believe I am going to return the girls to them.  I have ordered 50 guards to surround James' place, knowing that he is their uncle and will do anything to protect them makes my wolf and I feel at peace.  James is an exemplary person, he is an excellent Gamma who leads from the front.  His wife Casey has become a very good friend to Shelley.  She is warm loving, but yet very powerful, her Beta blood runs strong through her.  The girls will be safe till this evening.  

We reach the part in the forest where we need to separate to our own houses.  I nod at my boys as I watch them run off towards their home.  One as black and night and one as white as snow.  Love and pride runs through my veins, I am always and forever, a Mate and a father.  My family is my strength, it’s what has given me the determination to build my pack into the largest in the world.  Any Alpha who does not understand this, will never be able to beat me in battle.  

I slow down as I approach my house, My wolf hearing allowing me to hear my beautiful mate singing as she prepares breakfast. Love….
