Adija's Pov Confusion would be an understatement for how I was feeling at that moment. How exactly am I his mate too? The more I thought about it, the less sense it made. I couldn’t even begin to fathom what might be going through this Lycan’s head or what fate the moon goddess has in store for me. But overall, I was confused. My confusion made it impossible to figure out what to do, as disorientation quickly set in. We locked eyes for what felt like an eternity before he gave me a small, dangerous smirk. He looked at me and said, “I wonder what my brother will do when he finds out about this mate bond. I have no doubt he will be furious.” He stroked his chin gently, his eyes never leaving mine before letting out a small, amused laugh. The man confused me beyond words. He then shifted his gaze to the guards standing behind him, dismissing them with just a look. They nodded and left, leaving the two of us alone. “I have seen you before…” he said suddenly, shocking me. I had no idea how Lycan Remus could have seen me before because I was certain this was our first encounter. My eyes asked questions my lips couldn’t form, and he smiled at me before adding, “Indeed I have, and I know exactly where you are from. What do you think my brother will do when he learns that you are from Romania?” His words caught me off guard, terror gripping me as I blinked, realizing my secret had been exposed. He moved closer, closing the remaining distance between us, and I could feel his breath gently against my face as he reached out, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear. “I am sure he will have your head on a spike by morning.” I was terrified, but as scared as I was, his nearness ignited something dangerous within me—an undeniable, yet dangerous desire. Was it his irresistibly good looks that pulled me close, or was there more to it than what meets the eye, like the mate bond he spoke of, for example? The moon goddess had decided to create me, a wolfless wolf, and then toyed with my life even more by mating me to two brothers. It was a cruel joke. My entire existence was. I didn’t care how he knew where I was from, and I wasn’t about to ask either. The more pressing matter was making sure he kept it quiet, although Lycan Remus didn’t seem like the type to make bargains. I looked into his eyes, swallowing hard as my gaze searched his. “Please,” I pleaded, my voice cracking with sobs. “I have lived a long, painful life. I will do anything, so please don’t tell anyone about this. I don’t want to die yet.” It was almost impossible to hold back the sobs threatening to escape, but I managed. He stared at me, his expression cold, making it impossible to decipher what thoughts might be going through his mind. I was more than certain he would tell and have me executed. “Be careful,” he growled before adding, “I am not one to make deals. You might just end up regretting it.” I wasn’t sure if it was a warning or a threat, but I didn’t care as I whispered, “Please, don’t tell anyone.” “Whenever I ask for you, you shall come running,” he said, his voice filled with control. “It doesn’t matter if you are on top of my brother’s c**k, riding it. If I ask for you, you will come. If you agree to this, I will make sure those guards don’t tell him about your little escape attempt. And as you know, I am not much of a talker—your secret is safe with me.” I wasn’t sure if I should feel relieved or even thankful, but something deep down screamed danger. Pure, unavoidable danger. With no other choice in that moment, I agreed, and he flashed me a smug smirk before adding, “You may leave then… but just know, there is no escape from here. The sooner you stop trying, the longer you live. Keep fighting, and death will only come sooner.” Without another word, I turned away and headed back to the castle, my heart pounding uncontrollably in my chest as I tried to calm it. I cursed my fate, knowing things were spiraling further out of my control with every passing moment. Just as I neared the castle, I bumped into one of the maids, her expression filled with curiosity and a hint of concern. “Where have you been, my lady? The Alpha has been waiting, and you know he’s not one for patience.” Panic took over me instantly. I stammered an apology, realizing I had no choice but to hurry to the Alpha’s room. Reaching his door, I gave a small knock. When no response came, I hesitated only for a moment before pushing it open and stepping inside, trying to steady my racing heart. I kept my eyes lowered, unable to meet his gaze as I whispered, “I am here as you requested, Alpha.” The silence that followed was suffocating, filled with tension, and I felt more uncomfortable than ever in that moment. “Where have you been?” His deep voice rumbled, making me gulp as I scrambled for the right excuse. My mind raced until I finally blurted out, “My apologies for keeping you waiting…” I stammered, my thoughts still jumbled, but I quickly gathered myself and added, “I was feeling suffocated, so I decided to take a stroll through the garden. I wandered too far and, stupid me, somehow got lost in the maze.” I wasn’t sure if my excuse made any sense, but I silently prayed to any god listening that he would accept it. The silence that followed stretched on, feeling like an eternity. Then, finally, he spoke. “Raise your head.” His command was firm, and I slowly lifted my gaze to meet his. My breath caught in my throat as I saw him, relaxed in his chair, his piercing eyes boring into me. Beauty must run in this family because how could anyone look so irresistible? The longer I looked at him, the more my desires ran wild, untamed. I couldn't understand what was wrong with me, what was pushing these strange urges to the surface. Questions danced through my mind, but they were abruptly interrupted when Alpha Zarek asked a question that completely caught me off guard. “Have you ever used your mouth to pleasure a man before?”
