Episode 3

Adija’s Pov I stared around the room that night. Just like the previous night, they were dressing me up, preparing me to meet the Alpha again. But this time, I had spent the entire day planning my escape. I didn’t have a specific plan, but I knew I needed to run as fast as I could. The note kept replaying in my mind: *“He is not the only one that wants you.”* Who else wanted me? Why did they want me? What if tonight was the night the Alpha decided to kill me? “It’s important you look your best when you see the Alpha tonight. There’s nothing he enjoys more than a woman looking stunning,” one of the maids said as I stared at myself in the mirror, confused by the situation. What twisted game was the moon goddess playing with my life? I couldn’t make sense of any of it, and the pain of my reality was crushing. Me, a lowly omega outcast, was fated to be the mate of the evil Alpha Zarek. I took a deep breath and forced a sheepish smile at my reflection. The maids finished brushing my hair and said, “You are ready. We will take you to his room in a bit.” With that, they left, leaving me alone in the room. I quickly went to the window and looked down, realizing that the height was far too great—jumping would likely cause more damage than I could handle. But at that moment, escaping Alpha Zarek was my top priority. I knew the risk was high, but I decided to proceed anyway. I scanned the room for something to help me climb down and my eyes landed on the bed sheets. I ripped them off the bed and tied the ends together, letting them dangle out of the window. I began climbing down, relieved to find no guards in sight. I had to make this escape count because if I was caught, the punishment would be severe. As I climbed down, I reached the end of the sheets and had to jump the remaining distance. I landed harshly on the ground, wincing in pain but forcing myself to keep moving. My ankle twisted and my dress became dirty, but I limped away, trying to avoid any approaching guards. I hid behind a small bush as I heard footsteps approaching, my chest heaving with each breath. I mentally scolded myself, questioning if I had made the right decision. Even though I had managed to escape the room, I now faced the challenge of getting out of the castle with a hurting ankle and avoiding being seen by the guards. This plan hadn’t been thoroughly thought through, the thought of being caught and what King Zarek might do to me was terrifying beyond words. I looked around, desperately contemplating my options, when suddenly a strong hand grabbed my arm and lifted me up effortlessly, dragging me out of the bushes. Pain shot through my arm as I was pulled roughly, the ache coming from my shoulder. I knew, at that moment, I was done for. "Now what do we have here?" a guard said, tightening his grip on my arms with a mocking look that scared me. My fear got worse, my breaths shallow as the guard smiled cruelly. "Where are you running to?" another guard appeared out of nowhere, his tone filled with sarcasm. "Don't tell me you are scared and trying to escape the Alpha already. That doesn't seem fair, does it?" Tears began to sting my eyes as I glanced between them, fighting to hold them back. My voice trembled as I pleaded, "Please let me go. I promise I won't cause any trouble. Just let me go." "I can't wait to see how the Alpha punishes this one," one guard said with a psychotic smile. "He will probably let us all have a turn with her, just like the last w***e who tried to kill him and escape." “She’s fat; it won’t be fun. Perhaps this one is better beheaded,’ the other one said as they both considered ways I could be punished. Each idea they mentioned was more terrifying than the last. “Leave me alone!” I yelled, biting one of them on the hand. He growled in pain and raised his hand to slap me while I squeezed my eyes shut, bracing for the impact. “What is going on here?’’ a voice cut through, causing the hand that was about to hit me to freeze mid-air. We all turned toward the source of the voice, and the guards' expressions shifted from confidence to terror, as if they had seen a ghost. I couldn’t blame them—the man who had interrupted looked like trouble. He looked like Alpha Zarek but had enough features to stand apart. Standing over 6 feet tall, he was perfectly sculpted, with a handsome face. His aura was purely dangerous, anyone with eyes could tell he was nothing but trouble. “‘L…l…l…lyc… Lycan Remus,’ one of the guards stammered, his voice shaking as he took a nervous step back. The guard's face was pale, their eyes wide with fear, and their hands trembled. The very mention of the name seemed to drain the color from their faces. This was Lycan Remus? I had heard countless horror stories about him. The younger brother of Alpha Zarek, only by a year, Remus was known for his ruthless nature. His nickname, ‘the Beast,’ struck fear into the hearts of many.. His eyes, cold and calculating, seemed to pierce through to one's very soul. Just looking at him made me want to run as fast as I could, far away from him. The guards, now visibly afraid, stepped back, leaving me exposed as he walked towards me. I felt the urge to look down at that moment, scared of him but for some reason I couldn't take my eyes away from him. “So this is the one that was prophesied, the one the moon goddess sent us?” He paused, his eyes on me as he studied me carefully. “This is our worthless mate…”
