Finally Found You

CHAPTER XVI

AMARA

“Angel, I have to go. They’re looking for me.” Kyle kissed my forehead after letting go of our kiss, as much as I wanted him to stay, he can’t. “I’ll be seeing you again tomorrow.” He said as he took one last look at me and finally went out of the packhouse.

I couldn’t help but burst into tears of worry and anxiousness. So many questions popped into my head all at once and I don’t know how to answer them one by one. I went back into my room, plopped myself onto my bed, and wiped my tears away. I had to be strong, and I had to believe that the Moon Goddess will make everything okay, not only for Kyle, but for Brian as well, I know that he did something stupid that cost him our bond and friendship, but it doesn’t mean that I want him dead for good.

“Oh Taryn, I’m so torn apart.” I talked to my wolf as I softly sob.

“Torn apart? Why Ame?” She asked.

“I love Kyle, I really do, and I know that I belong to him, there is no doubt about that but…” I paused.

“But what?”

“Brian… I’m afraid for him too. I know that he’s a prick for rejecting me, but that doesn’t change the fact that we were both friends and I care for his sake too.” I explained.

“Hey, it’s okay to be afraid for him too Ame. There’s no denying that you both had a friendship and it’s difficult to see two people that you care about come to a fight. Brian decided by himself and he has to stand up for it. Maybe it is also mother’s plan for him so that he can be taught a lesson or two for rejecting a mate.”

“So, in short, Brian is having his karma.”

“Yes basically, and about Kyle, you need not worry.”

“Why?” I questioned.

“It was Mother’s plan to give you Kyle as your second chance mate because she knew that Kyle would take care of you more, and since we’re his first mate, he will be more than determined not to lose us just like that.” I felt Taryn purr at her statement.

“She told you? She can do that?” I got surprised at what she said and asked.

“Yes love, hahaha she can communicate with us wolves, she told me the night where you fainted at the party.”

Hearing my wolf say that made a little comfortable, I am undeniably in love with my mate and I couldn’t fathom the pain that I could feel if I were to lose him too. As for Brian, all I could do for him is hope and pray that Moon Goddess will guide him in life and more importantly, his decisions because he really needs it.

It was still around 10 in the morning and I decided that I’m going to take Taryn for a run around the pack territory just to let out a little air. It’s been a moment where I got to let her have control. I went downstairs got out of the house and went to the end of the training grounds where the forest was.

“Taryn, wanna take a little jog?” I asked her.

“I would love that!” I could hear her yip inside my head.

“Go ahead…” I let her take control over me.

When she finally shifted, she immediately ran around the forest. Taryn was so happy to be out after everything and I just needed a break to be human, she rolled over the grass, she was chasing small animals around the forest, and even went hunting a few rabbits. She’s like a big caramel puppy, completely enjoying her time out and about.

After all that running and hunting Taryn eventually got tired and went to a nearby stream to drink some water, plopped her body down the ground, and took a break.

“You certainly took your time Taryn,” I tell her.

“ahh… yeah… It’s not always I get to go out like this” She said as she was panting with her tongue sticking out of her mouth.

“Well, you’re lucky that I don’t want to shift back yet. So, today you can have all the time that you need.”

“Thank you for this Ame.” She purred.

“Don’t mention it,” I told her as she curled up and put her head down to rest.

Not long after we heard a rustle in one of the bushes nearby which made Taryn stand up and pop her head in alert. She looked around the area and saw no one until a huge golden-brown wolf came charging at Taryn from nowhere.

It took us a moment to realize who it was, Slade. He and Taryn were nipping, biting, and barking at each other, it almost looked like they were fighting but it was more of a playful fight between the two. Both of them were trying really hard on who would get to pin who on the ground, Taryn was a strong wolf but since Slade was larger than her, he won the fight and pinned Taryn down playfully biting her neck while she used her legs to kick her brother off of her.

Taryn stood up and shook the dirt off of her fur while Slade went to his little sister and nudged himself to her and licked her on the cheek. They both laid down near the stream as I try to talk to Nikolai.

“What the hell was that for Nikko? We thought we were about to be attacked.” I told my brother.

“Pfftttt… Attacked?! Our territory hasn’t been attacked for ages, I made sure of that.” He told me. He was right, we didn’t really have a problem with rogue attacks or whatsoever because Nikolai got the place heavily guarded.

“It’s really good to see Slade again after a long time,” I told him as I looked at his wolf.

“Yeah, he wanted to go out for a run today so I let him. I didn’t expect you’d be doing the same as well so right when I saw you here, I just couldn’t help myself hahaha”

“Haha funny…” Taryn huffed and whined at Slade.

“Hey, sis…”

“Yeah?”

“You doing good?” He asked me.

“Honestly, I wasn’t expecting this to happen at all. Everything happened so fast, one night I got rejected and it also happened to be Brian, not even a few days later, I found Kyle, my second chance. I thought it was going to be a long time after I find one but Goddess really went on ahead.”

“Wait Brian, isn’t he the one that you used to play with when you were younger? I always see the both of you running around and hiding. You always play when his father comes over and bring him.”

“Yeah, that’s him.” Taryn huffed.

“Well damn, it’s a small world.” He said as he bowed down his head parallel to Taryn.

“You’re lucky Ame, and I envy you at the same time.” Slade took a deep breath and whined.

“Why would you be envious of me?” I asked as Taryn’s ears went up while she c****d her head to the side.

“Back at the meeting room, I saw how Kyle is protective of you and how he showed Brian that he would never allow himself to lose you. I really wonder what it would feel like to love someone that much.” My brother told me as his wolf slowly lifted his head and stared deeply into the forest while the sound of flowing water on the stream continued.

“There’s still time Nikko, there’s no need to rush everything. I guess the Moon Goddess is still searching for the one for you.” I tell him.

“Wherever she may be, I would love for her to come sooner.” He replied as Slade now looked at his sister. “I’m rooting for Kyle to win the challenge, I know that he’s a good person for you, but if he ever makes you cry, I won’t hesitate to maul him. Brian got lucky that I didn’t know his name in the first place, I never got the chance to hit him back there because Kyle hogged him.”

“Hey! Don’t say that.” Taryn barked and whined at Slade.

“Just saying…” He said.

The rest of the time both of them just played and ran around the territory. Taryn was really to have spent time again with her brother, I really didn’t get to have a good look at Slade during my first shifting because it was nighttime. Now that I got to see him in broad daylight, his golden-brown fur was highlighted every time it was hit by the sun. I made myself scarce at that time as I watch both of our wolves just enjoy sibling time together.

Goddess, please bless my brother with someone. He’s a good person and he deserves someone who will love him dearly.

EMILY

“Huh? Straight to voicemail, guess she’s busy.” I put down my phone on my bedside table and rolled over the bed.

It a little over 10 AM now, and I just finished my last project for the semesterly break at my college, I wanted to tell Amara that I had a whole two weeks of vacation, I already asked my mom about it and she was cool with it, she’s already so happy with her life after the divorce with my dad and I believe that she has someone courting her at the moment, I wish this guy whose trying to win my mom’s heart just treat her better than my father did. Moreover, I would love to spend girl-time with my best friend and ask her how she’s doing after what she told me about her rejection.

I once never believed in the supernatural, but after meeting Ame and knowing she was a werewolf, my perspectives changed. GREATLY. Not only did she tell me that werewolves exist, but also vampires, witches, warlocks, etc. Everything in the movies, they’re real. I didn’t know what to react when Ame first told me about her kind and it took me a while to accept every detail and tried my best not to freak out and tell a single soul about it, which of course I did.

 “Yep! I’m going to surprise her.” I got out of bed, packed my belongings in my bag, and tried to remember where I put the piece of paper that Amara gave me about her packhouse’s location. Even though she trusted me with her whereabouts, she told me that I wasn’t allowed to go to her packhouse because It was risky, she gave me the address just in case some emergency happens.

I really had a strong urge to visit Ame today, and something at the back of my mind kept telling me to go try and see my best friend. I didn’t care anymore if was an emergency or not.

“THERE YOU ARE!” I finally found her address inside my binder and tried to look up how far the drive would be from here. “Three hours. Looks like I’m going to be on a long trip.” I closed my laptop, kept everything in order, and took one last check of everything before I went out of my dorm.

“This trip is going to take a while might as well listen to my favorite playlist while I’m at it.” I got the car running as I played the first song.

It was almost one in the afternoon, and I just finished eating my drive-through from earlier. The three hours of driving made my butt hurt a little, I was finally close to her location on my car’s GPS. The place was so dense with trees and it almost looked like a forest. As I drove further, I saw a huge mansion with a solid yellow gold gate and a moon at the center of it.

“She lives here?” I stopped the car as my eyes were in awe of how big Ame’s packhouse would be.

“Guess I should park here” I positioned my car to where it wouldn’t block the road, got my backpack from the back, and got out.

“Ame… why aren’t you answering?” Straight to voicemail. I tried to call Amara again but still no answer as I stood in front of the gate that made me look so miniature.

“Hmm…” I tried to push the gate back and forth and surprisingly, it came loose and opened. “Ha? That was easier than I thought…”

I slowly walked toward the house with caution it was so huge, but it seems like there was nobody around the place because it was really quiet. I got to the house’s veranda and peeked inside through one of the windows, no one.

“Hello?” I knocked on the door.

“Hello? Amara? It’s me Em…” I knocked once more but still no answer so I decided to turn the knob and yet again, it was unlocked so I got inside effortlessly. For a house this size, surely there could be security devices but there isn’t, guess being werewolves has its perks.

I let myself inside and again, awe struck my face as I saw the huge staircase, the decorations, the high ceiling with a chandelier, and everything about the place just made me so starstruck, I knew that Ame’s family is rich because her father owns an architecture company but I really did not expect her to be this filthy rich.

“Ame?...” I tried to call for her name as I slowly went inside the house and walked around until I could find her.

It took maybe 5 minutes for me to give up and just go back outside the veranda and decide to wait for her there if she ever comes. I went out and as I was about to sit on the cement railings, a tall man, around the same age as me and Ame, wearing a black shirt and sweatpants, saw me with shock planted on his face. He immediately ran over to me with great speed and grabbed me by my arm. I got so scared at what he did and I started breathing heavily.

“How in Goddess’s name did you find us?! Who let you in?!” He harshly said to my face and slowly studied me and by the looks of it, he sniffed me?

“A human?! Who sent you here?! Why did you get in so easily?!” I was already in a panic and I didn’t know what to stay but stutter the whole time.

“Ow! You’re hurting me!” I sobbed at him. “I-I just came here for my f-friend… please… let me go…” I tried to break away from his grip but he was so strong.

“You’re coming with me…” He said as he forcefully dragged me across the huge veranda.

Not long after a huge brown wolf came out from nowhere and ran in front of the man that was dragging me blocking his way. The wolf angrily growled at him and showed his sharp pointed teeth.

“Alpha…” The man’s face turned white, he let go of me almost immediately and he bowed at the creature. “I’m sorry…..”  Alpha? This wolf? What?

What made me more shocked was when the wolf turned into a human, not just any human, but the most beautiful naked man I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I felt like I met someone so special in my life as he focused his brown eyes on me. The man handed him some basketball shorts nearby as he stood away from him.

The beautiful person was now standing in front of me, just looking at me with those soft eyes. I was so drawn to him, my body wanted to touch him in every way but I was left standing there, speechless.

“Mate…” He said out loud, grabbed my right cheek, leaned down on me, and straight-up kissed me. I normally wouldn’t allow this kind of thing but deep within my head just told my body and soul to allow it. The feeling was magical.

“Hi Blaze what’s up with you? Have you seen my… EM?!” I heard a familiar voice shouting my name.
