Wearing Daisy Dukes and a plain white off-the-shoulder T-shirt, her petite frame looked incongruous with the voluminous, multi-coloured locks which spilled onto her shoulders like a waterfall dipped in a rainbow. She waved, and a beaming smile replaced her anxious frown as she rushed forward, accidentally bumping Kate’s shoulder. She spun around, rainbow waves swishing across her face as she cried, “Sorry.” “That’s okay,” said Kate, her voice a strangled squeak. “No harm done.” The girl nodded, turned, and Kate watched her greet the pretty blonde who’d been on the train in the seat opposite.
