“I am not going to ask you again, who are you?” White said, getting mad.
“Well Detective, that is to you to find out,” he let out a laugh. “Now is my turn to ask you a question, how did you like my piece of Art? I know it was majestic. I put so much effort I really hope you liked it.”
“I will find you; you are not going to get away with this. You make me sick; I don't know how an animal like you can breathe the same air as the rest of us. I swear! I am going to make you pay for everything that you have done.”
“Detective don't be so party pooper,” he replied with ease in his voice. “You really need to learn how to enjoy life. Life is like a game, you must make choices, and every choice you make has a consequence. The same is going to be between us, I want to play a game and every action you take will have a consequence. The more I am free the more pieces of art you are going to find.”
“Tick Tock Detective the game is on.”
He hung up the phone before she could say anything. She got a text right after the call.
25112000
She remembered that before when she was going through the phone, she tried to open the other phone records, but they had a password. She entered the digits on the text and a message said incorrect password you only have 2 more attempts pop up. She then tried the password backward, and once again the message popped up, she only had one more attempt.
She was getting frustrated; she was sweating, she had been inside that tunnel for almost one hour, and the pressure of knowing she had only one more attempt was almost unbearable. Who knows what would happen to the phone if she entered the password wrong one more time? She entered 11252000 and the files were unlocked.
Thank God, this was a close call, she thought.
This is not what she was expecting, the phone was full of pictures of the house outside the tunnel. It looked like someone was doing surveillance and following this family for days.
[Calling Hackman]
The phone kept ringing, no answer.
What are you doing Hackman, hibernating? she thought with anger while she rubbed her fingers on the top of her head worried.
She carefully walked back outside the tunnel and was heading back to the house. Looking at the pictures on the phone, she tried to position herself at the same angle where the pictures were taken. There were pictures of the house from the front the back and both sides. The killer had been stalking this family for days.
There were pictures of every door, window, and area surrounding the house. She kept scrolling down when she found pictures of a kid, a man, and a woman beside him.
They could be the Walkers. That couple looked about 30-40 years old just like the victims. She thought
A couple of hours passed while she was looking at the pictures and walking around outside the tunnel.
Her phone started ringing
“Hello?”
“Hackman this is White.”
“Do you sleep Detective? is past 1:00 am what is wrong?”
“The cases are connected,” White said.
“How do you know?”
“I was looking in the tunnel when I found a cellphone. I was checking it out and there was a voicemail, I started listening to it and there was someone talking to another person which I think it was Billie because he mentioned taking him from his room.”
Hackman sat down in his bed listening to White.
“Any other information that could lead us to this man and Billie?”
“This is more serious than we thought Hackman the psycho knew that I was going to find that phone. He called me saying that the bodies we found were art and that he wanted to play a game. He said the longer we take to capture him the more “pieces of art” we are going to find. He also sent me a code that I used to unlock the files on the phone. When I checked the photos there were pictures of a kid and his family. I think it’s Billie and his family.”
“So, we are dealing with a Serial Killer,” Hackman said with a disturbing tone.
“It looks that way, we need to be prepared for the storm that is coming our way. This psycho is going to spill a lot of blood if we don't stop him,” she replied.
“Let’s join forces White, only this way we are going to be able to find Billie and avoid any more deaths. Another thing trust no one this guy was expecting you at the scene so that means he might know you.”
“I just got transferred here, how is possible that this guy knows me?”
“I have no idea, but he does.”
“Where are you right now?” White asked.
“I am at my house; you just woke me up.” he yawned.
“Come to the scene we need to keep searching the house. There is no time to sleep hurry up and get here,”
“I don't understand how you are not dead tired. But let me get ready I will be there in forty-five minutes,” he rubbed his face as he woke up.
“See you soon, I will keep looking around the house.”
