Episode 6: He Knows My Name

280 Words
The whisper haunted her. It had been two days since she heard it. Two days since the world shifted under her feet again. “Soon, Luna.” He knew her. Not just her face — her *soul*. It terrified her more than she wanted to admit. Anita sat on the edge of her bed, the cold morning light pouring in through the window. The town was quiet, but her chest wasn’t. Her heartbeat was wild. Unsteady. Like it was no longer beating for her alone. She pressed her fingers to her temples. “I’m not crazy,” she whispered to herself. She got up, needing air. Her legs took her somewhere unexpected — the woods behind her house. The path was familiar, but today it felt different. As if the trees themselves were watching. Then she stopped. In the middle of the path, carved into the bark of an old tree, were four words: **I See You, Luna.** Her breath caught. She stepped back, heart pounding, eyes wide. Someone had *been here*. Someone who knew what she was. Or what she was *becoming*. She turned to run— But he was there. Standing just a few feet away, as if he’d risen from the shadows. Arthur. Up close, he looked even more dangerous. More real. His dark eyes never left hers. “I warned you,” he said quietly. “The world is not what you think it is.” Anita tried to speak, but the words stuck in her throat. “What do you want from me?” she finally managed. “I want what’s mine,” he said simply. “And you, Luna… you’ve always been mine.”
