Cheated and rejected
Aren’t you tired of your one-sided marriage with Ryan? I’m sure as a little girl you imagined getting married to a prince charming who will dote on you always, but you obviously are not getting that with Ryan. Divorce him. Free yourself and go live the free life you have always dreamed of. This is my last warning. Ciara rolled her eyes, scanning through the short text again. When was Anne not at her evil best? Wasn’t marriage enough to deter promiscuous women? Seems not, with the option of divorce.  Ciara rolled her eyes again and leaned off the doorway, going into her room. She threw her bag on the bed. Not like there was much to her marriage with Ryan anyway. Shameful, but her husband was still hung over his ex-girlfriend, Anne. The last time Anne sent such a text to her, she had acted naive and showed it to Ryan, thinking he would flare up and defend her. Instead, he dialed Anne and acted like a love-struck puppy, even promising to divorce her. She felt like a fool. No, she was the fool. Pulling off her clothes, she ventured into the shower and took a long, scented soak in the tub. It was almost a year, and she had not gotten anywhere in her investigation of her parent’s death. Sincerely, she considered divorce every so often. Ryan was no help whatsoever. She wanted to go back and take back her inheritance. Perhaps this life was not meant for her at all. There was so much she could be, so much she could do, but here was she enduring a shame of a marriage. Her phone dinged from the room. Minutes later, she padded out of the bathroom, all clean and refreshed. Picking up her phone from the bed, she saw it was a new message from the same number. "Ryan's at the hospital with me. If you think I'm lying, then come quickly to Corazon hospital, I might tell you why he is better off with me.’' Her eyes narrowed. Was Anne up to something? She felt uneasy. What did the text mean? She shrugged it off, she wasn’t going to allow Anne to play her around. But after moisturizing her skin and putting on a fresh pair of pajamas, she was almost going crazy with worry. She threw on a coat over her pajamas, slipped her feet into her walkabouts, and rushed out of the house. Barging into Ryan's hospital room, she was met with the most outrageous sight she had ever seen. Her husband had his mouth over his ex-girlfriend’s, intimately holding her. They jumped away from each other, guilty looks on their faces when they saw her. “Ry… Ryan, you…” she stuttered, tears quickly filling her eyes. The guilty looks wore off quickly, and they stared down at her with sneers on their faces. “What are you doing here, Woman? You walked in on our private moment,” Anne said condescendingly. “You w***e!” Ciara screamed, charging at her. She raised a hand to smack her, but Anne hit her first, a loud smack that echoed throughout the hospital room. She only grew more furious, but just as she made to pull Anne's hair, a human obstruction stepped in her path. Ryan pushed her away, causing her to stumble and land on the floor. She stared up at him in horror, while Anne smirked from behind him. “Stop acting so pathetic, Ciara. You have no right to barge into my room and cause trouble, especially when you know I’m ill. Can’t you be a bit more considerate?” Ciara almost couldn’t believe her ears. Was Ryan really talking to her in such a manner and again, is the check-up suddenly turned to illness? “Ryan, you cheated,” she spat angrily, “you cheated with this w***e and yet, you have the nerves to ask me to be considerate? You have the nerve to speak so condescendingly to me! Ryan, we’re married for crying out loud!” Ryan only blinked, like he was hearing the news. “Oh,” he looked away, as if thinking, then he looked back at her, “what if we change that?” She gaped at him. “Ryan!” Anne whined from behind, holding on to his arm, “don’t be so dramatic. She was only acting as a good wife, in her best interest.” “Exactly, in her best interest. Why would she barge into my room that way? Disrespectful.” “Scum,” Anne spat, watching their illegal interaction, “you both are scum.” “Get out,” Ryan ordered, “you are best kept at home before I decide to start to fill those divorce papers at home.” Anne snickered. “Scum!” Ciara shouted, getting to her feet. “Fine,” she glared at her husband, “I will grant you your wish and set us both free. You want a divorce, I’ll give you a divorce.” She smacked him on the cheek and then marched away angrily. Anne gasped. “Oh my, Ryan, are you okay? Why would she do such a thing when she knows you’re ill? I’m so sorry, Ryan.” Anne fanned over him, leading him back to the bed. Ryan stared at the door Ciara left open in her angry haste. He didn’t believe she could do it, divorce him. She was practically sponging off him. He didn't understand why she tried to act like she actually had feelings for him. She couldn’t fool him, they both got into the marriage with their eyes open, for benefits and nothing more. So, what was it to her if he went after his heart, the woman he loved? Couldn’t she, at least, be happy for him? “Ryan, don’t think so much. It’s best if she signs the papers, then we can finally be together,” Anne spoke, smiling at him. She was so pretty. “Yeah,” he kissed her lightly, “it’s for the best.”
