“Mum….mum!” Kai said, running into the living room
“What?” I asked, my heart thumping “What’s wrong?”
I immediately sit up even though Simon kept his arms around me. We had been watching a movie, and I was almost drifting off when I heard Kai cry out
Kai almost launched himself at me but Simon caught him before he could get close to me. Scott and Kelsie came running in behind him and Ray stretched and opened his eyes, looking at everyone as he got up from his nap. When Simon held Kai, my mouth opened in shock when he burst into tears.
“Kai?” I said, running a hand through his thick hair
It broke my heart to see him so upset and I opened my arms to him, gently taking him to sit on my lap as he cried. When I looked at Scott and Kelsie; they both shrugged and shook their heads
