Marina’s POV
I’ve had an eventful time off school, but I was looking forward to getting back to class and getting through the year. I’ve still been tired, but I think it’s just because of the stress of the castle. Even though Cory’s in charge when mom and dad are gone, a lot of work falls on my shoulders. He’s not very capable of ruling alone.
Getting out and going to class should help me relax. Thankfully, it’s time for my favorite class, advanced fight shifting with Clilene.
“Fight. Harder!” Clilene yelled at me again. And once again, I fell to the ground on all fours, panting.
I could feel her over me, pushing her foot on the small of my back, slamming me to the ground. "Dead. You'd be dead."
She got off staring down at me as I worked to get back up.
