Marina’s POV
I woke up to my early alarm blaring as I felt someone reach over me and turn it off. I stiffened in place before I remembered Damari was in here with me last night. He buried his head under the pillows, so I got up dressed to work out.
“Rest well, sleeping beauty,” I teased him as I left my room and walked down the hallway. The castle was pretty quiet; it was still very early. I don’t expect anyone but employees to be up for a few hours.
I got to the gym and started my regular indoor routine. I’m doing training with Clilene later, so I’m saving my shifting for then. Still, after my dad kicked my ass, I’ve been trying to build my strength and speed. He was able to take me down a little too easily, and I need to be more prepared.
