The next morning, Teresa sat down, depositing a stack of books on the table before her. “Care for some light reading?” she asked.
“What have you got there?” asked Charlaine.
“Books on healing,” she replied, “courtesy of Gwalinor.”
“So, you’re starting to learn magic?”
“No, not yet. That won’t commence until the order approves my request, should they choose to do so.”
“Then what’s all this?”
“Apparently, Life Mages need to be familiar with how the body works in order to wield their magic effectively.”
“And these books will tell you that?”
“Not entirely, these are just a start.” Teresa hefted one of the larger volumes. “This one, for instance, is all about the parts of the body, look.” She
