In the year 850 AD, in a time before the Vikings had been heard of by anyone outside of what they called Snowland (known as Iceland today), the legends to be were little better than cattle kept by their vampire master, Lord Draugr. As the Viking people lived in huts and worked hard every day just to feed themselves, Draugr lived with his extended inbred family in a castle atop a hill that overlooked them all. The family would float down at their leisure to feed on whoever they pleased. It was always cold, so the villagers didn't mind that. The men were used to braving the icy seas to bring home the food, and the women worked equally hard in keeping everything else in order, from taking care of children to preparing meals to maintain their homes.
