"Are you alright, River? Did he touch you? Did he hurt you?" As soon as we were safely in the house, Zachariah began to look me over. “No, he didn’t. Now piss off. Jesus!” I said as I dropped myself into a chair at the kitchen table. I snatched up a biscuit and smeared honey and butter on it before shoving it in my mouth. Zachariah frowned at me. “You could have been hurt, you know?” Zachariah said as he crossed his arms. Much to my dismay, Zachariah had men secure the perimeter outside. I wasn't the only one annoyed by Zachariah's unwelcome guest.
