Prologue

192 Words
In the wee hours on New York Avenue, the sirens pierced the silence of the night. The police received a report of someone breaking into Taylor Group to steal Radiant Heart, a jewel worth $200 million. They barged in and broke down the door, only to see a woman bathed in blood. A g*n was in her hand, and a dead body was lying breathless on the floor. The victim was Roman Taylor, a jewelry mogul famous in New York City. The police immediately arrested the woman, whose name was Olivia Flores, and she was six months pregnant. Olivia remained silent from her arrest to the trial, not pleading her case or presenting anything. The prosecutors were highly doubtful that a pregnant woman could defy the security measures of the building to steal the jewel and kill a 200-pound man at close range. To commute her sentence, the defense lawyer advised her to give away her accomplices, but she was as mute as a fish. Irritated by her silence, the judge sent her to Ricky Field, the worst women's prison in New York. What awaited her was despair deeper than the night.
