Olivia wanted to get her children out of the Child Welfare Services as she could not accept her children being kept there only to be bullied by others!
However, the Child Welfare Services refused to let her take them away as she was not their legal guardian.
Olivia was devastated and had to rejoin Elena to settle her mother’s funeral. After a long day, she returned to Ashville and temporarily stayed at Elena’s house since she had nowhere else to go.
“Olivia, have you thought about what’s next in your life?” Elena asked as they ate.
Olivia’s eyes welled up in tears of hatred, sadness, disappointment, and regret. “There is something I need to do before I start my new life.”
“Get back at Aiden?” As her childhood friend, Elena understood her very well.
Elena continued, “Have you figured out how to do that?”
“Isn’t Aiden a womanizer? Then let it be his downfall,” Olivia said coldly.
A few days before her release from prison, she received a letter from a mysterious man who claimed that he knew about her feud with Aiden and was willing to help her. He told her that Aiden would be at the Starlight Bar tomorrow night on a date with his blonde girlfriend.
The next night.
Olivia arrived at the Starlight Bar, which was the trendiest bar in Ashville. The mystery man invited her there to enjoy a show that he had prepared for her.
Olivia found a secluded spot and sat down on a barstool to watch the partygoers gyrating on the dance floor. This was a popular hangout for young professionals to party the night away.
Soon, a sexy lady with long wavy curls sashayed in. She was Emily, someone hired by the mystery man to mess with Aiden.
Emily sat alluringly at the bar counter and scanned the dance floor. Moments later, she spotted her target.
Aiden was well dressed and looked a million bucks. It was obvious that he was a regular at the bar and turned many heads. He soon spotted the sexy Emily who was at the bar counter and approached her.
Emily pretended to accept his advances and said with a wink, “Hey, handsome, alone tonight?”
“The heavens must be missing an angel tonight. Care for a drink?” Aiden said with a grin.
Aiden sat beside her and ordered a bottle of red wine.
They drank and chatted into the night. After a couple of glasses, Emily pretended to be more inebriated than she actually was. She leaned onto his shoulders and deliberately presented her deep cleavage and huge breasts.
Aiden immediately took advantage of the situation to grab her waist and pull her into his embrace. Little did he know that Emily in turn took advantage of his actions to pour a packet of laxatives into his wine glass. She picked up his glass, swirled the wine, and slurred, “Cut the chit chat, drink!”
Olivia saw every detail and grinned as she saw Emily put the laxatives into Aiden’s glass.
“Emily, let’s take this somewhere else,” Aiden whispered suggestively into Emily’s ear and tried to nibble it.
“What’s the hurry? I want to drink some more.” Emily was about to push him off when she caught a glimpse of a blonde lady walking into the pub. She then lunged toward Aiden and shoved her breasts into his face.
On seeing this, the blond lady yelled, “Aiden! What are you doing? Didn’t you say that I’m your only woman? Who is this b***h?”
Emily immediately looked at Aiden as tears filled her eyes and said, “You two-timing asshole!”
“Hey, I can explain. I...” Aiden was about to explain when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his abdomen, “Talk later! I need to use the bathroom!”
The blonde grabbed his arm and refused to let him leave without giving her a good explanation while Emily just looked on appearing aggrieved.
“Babe, I really need to go! I’m not running away. I just need to go to the bathroom!”
As Aiden tried to break free, the blonde lady swung her Chanel handbag and hit him on the abdomen. Aiden lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground.
The moment his buttocks hit the floor, he could feel a stream of warm liquid shooting out of his anus.
The stench instantly permeated the bar.
“Holy s**t! Did he just s**t in his pants!”
“What the hell? Don’t come out if you can’t take care of yourself!” The onlookers held their noses and watched Aiden in disgust.
Emily took the opportunity to slip away in the commotion while Aiden continued to yell at the blonde who turned away and left in disgust.
Olivia smiled contentedly, drank the rest of her drink, and left the pub. This was just the beginning of Aiden’s troubles.
Olivia knew that apart from tormenting Aiden, she had more important things to do, which was to get a job and then take back custody of her kids!
She headed back home and immediately prepared her resume. She spent the next few days submitting her resume online but she never received any invitation for an interview.
When she was finally invited to an interview, she went with high hopes and expectations. However, the interview was over before it began. When the interviewer found out that she was an ex-con, he immediately asked her to leave.
Olivia walked along the sidewalk in a daze. She continued to replay the interviewer’s comments in her mind. “Ms. Flores, you have no college degree and had only designed a few pieces of jewelry. You are totally unqualified to be in our company. Furthermore, we will never hire anyone with a criminal record!”
What he said was ruthless but it was the truth.
Even if there were companies that accepted her lack of education, there were very few that would hire an ex-convict.
Olivia walked aimlessly along the sidewalk. She had been job hunting for a month without any results.
Just as she was about to give up, she suddenly caught a glimpse of a skyscraper ahead of her. It was the Taylor Group! That was the most famous jewelry company in the country!
Olivia walked up to the entrance of Taylor Group and saw a job posting for a janitor on the notice board.
Olivia’s eyes lit up!
She had always dreamed of working for the Taylor Group! Now that she was an ex-convict, she would be satisfied if she could work there as a janitor.
Olivia decided to hide her identity for the time being in order to join the group. She obtained a fake identity card with Elena’s help and faked her past. She was still Olivia, but her personal history was totally different from her actual past. In her new identity, her parents had a small business and managed to save enough money to send her abroad to pursue her dreams. Unfortunately, her parents’ business had failed and they were both killed in a car accident. As a result, she had to drop out of college and not complete her formal education.
Olivia and Elena spent a long time creating her identity and past so that it could be as watertight as possible. Thereafter, she went to the Taylor Group and followed the directions to the Human Resources department.
She noticed a notice that was stuck on the door of a conference room that indicated that there was an ongoing interview. Sensing the opportunity, she stood by the door and waited patiently. As soon as the door opened and a job candidate walked out, she dashed in and said enthusiastically, “Good morning, I’m here to apply for the job as a janitor!”
The interviewer was startled but impressed by her enthusiasm. He took over her resume, which was politely presented to him. He took a glance at it, sized up Olivia, and asked with curiosity, “Are you sure you’re applying to be the janitor?” He was puzzled as she was young and had some education. Surely, she could have applied for a job as a clerk or administrative assistant.
“Yes, Sir!”
She noticed the interviewer smile and took the initiative to sell herself. “Good morning, Sir. My name is Olivia, I just returned to Ashville after some years abroad. I was unable to finish my education because of family reasons. I have no work experience and did not complete my college degree but I am willing to start from the bottom!”
The interviewer was impressed by her moxie and decided to employ her as a janitor.
Olivia was overjoyed, thanked the interviewer, and ran out of the building. She did not want to give him any chance to change his mind.
That night, she celebrated the good news with Elena and had an early night in preparation for her job, and the first steps she would be taking to redeem her life.
The next morning, she arrived at the company half an hour earlier than she was required to. After being introduced to her colleagues, she quickly understood the scope of her duties and what she was expected to do.
Olivia’s assigned task for the day was to clean the company’s elevators.
The janitors usually get to work much earlier compared to the other company staff. They would clean the communal areas before the other staff came to work so as not to interfere with the regular operations. Olivia was very meticulous and quick as she had done so many cleaning duties in the prison.
“Olivia, you’re catching on really fast!” said Suzanne, a very experienced janitor at the company.
“It’s all your credit. You’ve taught me well.” Olivia said graciously. Most of her duties were similar to what she did regularly at the prison. Thus, she was able to do her job very well at the company.
“Then continue to clean the staff elevators, I’ll go to take care of the CEO’s personal elevator. I have to hurry or the CEO would dock my pay if he smells the pungent smell of the disinfectant when he arrives.”
“Okay Suzanne, I’ll wait for you on the 20th floor!” Olivia said. After cleaning the elevators, they had to clean and prepare the conference room on the 20th floor.
Olivia arrived on the 20th floor earlier than Suzanne. As soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she tripped over some cardboard boxes and fell heavily onto the floor. Fortunately, the floor was carpeted and she was not hurt by the fall. She quickly composed herself and began to pick up the trash and boxes.
Ding...
She turned around to look at the elevator doors open, fully expecting Suzanne to step out of it.
However, as soon as the doors opened, she saw a tall handsome man in a black business suit standing leisurely with his hands in his pockets. Their eyes met and locked for a brief moment before Olivia quickly looked away nervously.
The next moment, the elevator door closed and it went further up the tower. She shrugged her shoulders and continued to tidy up the mess.
In the elevator.
The man frowned slightly, as he recalled the scene he saw earlier. The pathetic-looking lady with a short, neat haircut, kneeling on the ground picking up the trash. The moment she turned her head to look at him, her eyes sparkled and her dainty mouth gasped like a startled deer in an enchanted forest.
Her delicate and unblemished complexion captivated him. He seemed to have seen her somewhere.
“John, find out who’s that woman.” He ordered his assistant.
