"So when's the wedding?" Shan asked, a little too harsh and suggesting than usual, as we ate our ice cream in Prima's with Marzia, Felix and the twins.
"Yeah, Mommy. When is it?" Ashley agreed.
I smiled warmly at her. Avery's still uncomfortable with the subject but Ashley was perfectly fine with it. I'm glad they accepted me.
"It's next month. You better get a dress, because it'll be here before you know it." I replied.
"Speaking of the wedding, do you want me to drive them there or will you send someone to pick them up?" Shay interrupted rudely.
"Er, I was hoping that you would be there. If it's not uncomfortable of course." I ducked my head low in embarrassment. Did I seriously invite my ex-wife to my wedding with the guy I used to cheat on her?
Everyone stopped shoveling ice cream down their throats and stared at me. Shan broke the silence by clearing her throat. She glared at me and slowly answered. "I don't think I'll be going, Sasha."
"Sorry, it's stupid anyways." I muttered.
She laughed. "Yeah, it is." She murmured darkly.
I sighed. I didn't know what s**t is going through her mind right now, just yesterday she was jumping my bones and the next morning she wakes up, she treats me like trash. This is all my fault. I caused her this. God, why can't I do anything right?
She was sitting in one of the heads of the six-seat table with Felix on the other side. She was sullenly forcing her vanilla and strawberry ice cream in her mouth while sulking, only speaking up whenever Ashley would whine or when Avery ask for a napkin.
Shannon wasn't the bubbly and energetic woman I knew before. In all honesty, she was the opposite. I wonder what caused her to be this way...Oh wait. I am. She's been like this ever since the first time she met Hudson. She became insecure and down. To add to her injury, she found me on our bed, making love to someone that isn't my wife.
"Hudson, Shannon can hear you." I giggled as he put his lips on my neck.
"She can't. Besides, she's like your puppy. She'll listen to whatever bullcrap lie you make up." He grunted as his kisses became more forceful.
As of then, we were in our house. Well, the Mitchell's house. We were supposed to have a decent dinner, and were supposed to introduce him as one of my best friends. She even went the extra mile to dress up and arrange a night for just the three of us, contacting Shaun to pick up our six-year old twins.
She excused herself to get some wine when Hudson dragged me to the nearest bedroom he could find. Ours.
Which brings us here, with Hudson pressing his weight down on me as he slowly undressed me. As he was getting to the good part, the door swung open and revealed a broken Shay, clutching a bottle of whatever alcohol it was.
She had this huge smile that faded ever-so-slowly as she dropped the obviously expensive wine on the carpeted floor, making it crash. I saw her beautiful smiling face contort to one with pain and betrayal. I pushed Hudson off me, and since he wasn't stunned that my wife was there, it was harder, considering he still had force.
"Shan, I can explain. Please, listen to me." I begged.
I half expected her to shout at me and tell me that her eyes weren't lying and half expected her to listen, considering she is, after all, Shay Mitchell, my understanding wife. But she did none of those things, which made it easier for guilt to eat me up. She didn't look at me or the mess, she walked out the door as if nothing happened.
I slipped my dress back on and chased after her. She was walking down the stairs with a blank expression. I've never seen her like this before and it feels all so foreign. I reached to grab her arm and she almost fell down the stairs because of the force.
She looked up at me and I saw pain and anger flash through her caramel brown eyes. After just staring into my eyes, the good part of her won and she calmly whispered, "Since when?"
I huffed. "A month." I shut my eyes closed, bracing myself for the hit but nothing came.
Instead, I'm met by a wail. Not a whiny wail. It was like a broken animal who was slowly dying in pain. It hurts. But my stubbornness took over. I just let her scream until she had enough. She sobbed and I heard a thud, indicating that she fell on her knees.
"Aren't I enough? Tell me, what did I do? What did I do?! Please. Make it go away! It hurts so bad." She sobbed and I was met with another thud.
I opened my eyes to see that Shay was on a fetal position in the stairs, she was clutching her chest and she kept sobbing.
She's like this because of me.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when the cute bell chimed, signalling the workers that a new customer came in. The man was tall with neatly combed brown hair and I recognized him immediately when he faced us.
Instead of going directly to the counter, he made his way to our table with a huge smile. Shan's glare became more murderous as she muttered something under her breath.
"Hey. Didn't think I'd see you here, Sash. Who are these?" He greeted with a cocky smirk.
I stood up to introduce them and he took the chance to wrap his arm around my waist possesively. I saw Shay grip her spoon and looke up at us with a sarcastic smile, her glare softening so she could let him see her mock happiness.
She stood up from her seat and extended her hand as if waiting for Hudson to shake it. He arrogantly took it and they firmly shook their hands.
"Hi, we met before but I think we need to introduce ourselves again. I'm Shannon, Sasha's first. You know, first everything." She smirked.
Hudson's face darkened and he gripped her hand so tight that I thought he would break it. I put my hand in theirs and tugged Hudson's away. They do not need to start a scene.
"Can we act like civilized people and stop this?" I whispered to the both of them.
"Yeah, exactly." Hudson taunted.
I was about to protest when Shan nodded. "Perfect. So can you leave?" She said.
"No, bitch." He muttered and I stomped on his foot, making him grunt. "Now who are these?" He turned his attention to Felix and Marzia.
Felix, being the gentleman he was, stood up from his chair and also extended his hand out for Hudson to take. "Felix Kjellbe-"
Hudson cut him off. "Oh I know you. You're the gay guy in Youtube aren't you? The lamest one." He snickered.
"Hudson." I fumed.
But he didn't acknowledge me. Instead, he looked at Marzia and tilted his head. "And you're the golddigger aren't you? You're still with him? Haven't taken all his millions, huh?"
Felix had his fists clenched. His face was red and Marzia looked like she was about to cry. Felix looked at me. "I'm sorry in advance, Sash."
With a thud, Hudson tumbled to the floor while cradling his bleeding nose. If people hadn't been staring at us because of who we are, they are now because of the scene Hudson caused. I didn't know who I was mad at. At Felix who punched Hudson, at Hudson who insulted my best friends or at Shay who was laughing hysterically at the sight. The twins mirrored my expression, wide-eyed and mouth gaping, staring at Hudson with a broken nose and Felix with reddened knuckles.
Power of the brofist, I guess.
