Chapter Eleven

1589 Words
S A S H A It was a month since Felix punched Hudson and up until now, he still whines about it. I tried inviting Marzia and Felix to the wedding but they refused, stating that they couldn't handle another scandalous scene. They left for home three weeks ago so I went with the twins to the airport to send them off. The past month was used up to spend bonding time with the kids but Shay wasn't present to even a single one of those days. She always found some lousy excuse. She even spent more time with Katie than our children. I wouldn't want to complain though. If I get to spend time with Ashley and Avery without her then so be it. She doesn't have to show her pretty face every time. Besides, I see more than enough of her in set, why do I need to in a casual place? And I'm getting married again in two weeks. I shouldn't think about my ex wife right? Wrong. I want to see her every day but I could never tell her that. She's so pissed at me. And I don't even know why. Ugh. She's too complicated. Women are always like that. With guys, it's easy. s*x, food and sleep. That's all they f*****g need. "...So what do you think?" Hudson asked me. We were currently in a flower shop and he kept blabbing about good flower choices and possible colors. His words weren't registering in my brain. It was all a faint static. "That sounds great." I nodded. "I was asking you a question. What do you think? Pink or white?" "Sure." I deadpanned, scrolling through my i********: feed. He huffed and massaged his temple. "Sasha." I looked up from my phone and tilted my head, trying to look innocent. "What?" He looked at me with warning and turned his attention to the old woman. "We'll take the whites." When we were done, Hudson held my wrist tight and pulled me out the shop. "What the hell was that about?" He seethed. I rolled my eyes. "Why do you even bring me to these things? I already told you that I'm not interested in preparing for this stupid wedding!" "Then what are you preparing for? For you and that b***h to get back together? Is this what this is about?" "You are impossible, Hudson! I haven't even seen her outside of the set for weeks. I gave you all my free time! What more are you asking for?" "All your free time? Maybe you're forgetting that you're always with those brats!" I scoffed. "They're my kids. They will be your stepchildren and you call them brats? Do you want this wedding to be called off?" I turned to leave but he didn't let go of my wrist. I tried wrenching myself from his grip but he just tightened his hold. "Hudson, you're hurting me." I whimpered. He let me go and I rubbed the hurt wrist with my free hand. I glared at him but he just had this apologetic look on his face. "I'm sorry. I just don't want to lose you. I love you too much." I lowered my gaze. Hudson is sweet. Really. But he's selfish and self-centered. And the good part of him is overpowered by the bad one. Though it's there, it's hard to see. "I'll see you at home. I'm going to see the kids." I dismissed him with a soft scowl as I hiked my bag higher up on my shoulder. He released a heavy sigh. "M'kay. See you later. I love you." He kissed my cheek. I internally cringed but I nodded. "Thanks." I took a cab and headed to what used to be my home. Shay was standing by the door with Angel on a leash. I was guessing they went for a run because she was in her workout clothes and she was so sweaty. She was knocking -more like banging - on the door. "Left your keys inside?" I asked with a slight smirk. I squinted as the sun glared at us. She gave a small frown upon seeing me. She opened her mouth to say - from what I'm guessing - a snarky comment, but she shut it and sighed. "Are they asleep?" I asked with a hint of suggestion. "Yeah. Or watching way too close to whatever's on the television with the volume on max." I smiled and walked to the door, facing her. "Sounds very familiar." She squinted with a tiny smile playing on her lips. Then her eyes turned a darker shade. She lost her smile and replaced it with a frown. "What are you doing here again?" She asked with sass. I rolled my eyes. Here she goes again with the mood swings. "I was supposed to go out with the kids. You said yes remember?" It was her turn to roll her eyes. "I didn't give you an answer when you asked. Ashley snatched my phone. She was the one who said yes." I shrugged with a sarcastic grin. "Makes no difference." She huffed and started to bang on the door again. "Ash! Aves! Open up!" I crossed my arms in my chest and groaned. She hates me. That's for sure. S H A Y She hates me. That's for sure. I can't blame her though. Lately, I gave her every reason to do so. She's absolutely right. I need to move on. And I can only do that by making her hate me. Besides, she threw my heart away...again. It was kinda easier than the last time though the pain was still there. Katie loves me. She just confessed a week ago and I said I did too. It was actually sort of a lie because when I told her that, I meant as one of my bestest friends. But of course she thought the other anyway so she kissed me and held my hand throughout our whole quiet walk in the park. I didn't want to hurt her feelings. I just couldn't. I don't want another person as broken as me. There are enough. I still love Sasha. No doubt about it. But all she ever does is be sweet with Hudson when we see each other. I know it's just an act when she does that because her eyebrows make these exaggerated movements when she's working so seeing her do that when Hudson's around is way too obvious. To add to my annoyance, he visits the set everyday like, what the hell, does he really think his stupid cocky mug is attractive? I'm having enough of his sucky face. The door swung open and Avery peeked out guiltily. "Sorry, Mom." He mumbled almost inaudibly. "Come here." I wiggled my finger at him. He stepped out and he grinned. His face was like spray-painted with powdered cheese. There was also smudges of chocolate in his cheek. I crossed my arms in my chest and I gave him a "you're-in-deep-trouble-young-man" look. "Cheetos?" I asked sternly. He timidly nodded. "Hershey's?" He nodded again. "Where's your sister?" Sasha asked beside me, mirroring my tone. He pointed his thumb to the inside of the house and I noticed that a Disney film was on, blaring loudly. I was guessing it was High School Musical because I could hear Ashley singing-shrieking some lyrics about working out. Sasha massaged her temple and glared at me. I gave her a questioning look. "Why are you mad at me?" "Because I told you to hide your stash someplace more hidden. But no, you wanted to put it under our bed." She groaned and snickered. I caught the word our but I chose to ignore it. I made a sarcastic chuckle. "It was your idea." I countered. "Yeah, but after they found it the first time, I told you to switch it." I shook my head and went inside my house. The sounds from the television were deafening. I grabbed the remote from the coffee table and Ashley stopped bouncing. "Mooom!" She whined. "Ashley Marie Mitchell, didn't I tell you to cut back on the chocolate?" I said, hands on hips. "Sorry, Mom." She mumbled then she giggled. "Mommy!" She exclaimed with wide arms as she ran to Sasha. Sasha returned the hug and kissed her forehead. When Ash pulled away, Sasha grabbed a hanky from her bag and wiped our daughter's messy face. "Tsk. Do you know that if you have diabetes, you'll lose your legs?" She said. I looked at her with a bewildered expression but she just glared at me. Ashley gasped. "Really, Mommy?" "Yes." She confirmed. She turned to Avery and wiped his face too. Avery jumped up and down as I released Angel and ran off to the backyard. I huffed. "Are you still taking them somewhere? In that condition?" I whisper-yelled as Ashley followed them. She shrugged. "I was thinking on bringing them to the park. You know, so they could burn all that sugar from running around." I bent down to pick up a wrapper of Hershey's from the floor and some fallen Cheetos. "Have fun." I grinned. "Do you like to come with me? I mean, us?" She asked with hope in her voice. "I actually have plans with Katie." I lied. "Don't s**t me. I know you don't." I huffed. She knows me too well. "And something you'd plan would be more fun than sitting on the couch and watching High School Musical?" "Yes." She grinned.
