Roman stood in his bathroom early the next morning with a single towel wrapped around his waist. He leaned heavily against the vanity unit, his hands bracing him as he gazed at his reflection through the misted-up mirror. His hair was wet and plastered to his scalp from his hot shower. The dark, rough stubble that peppered his cheeks and chin was in dire need of a trim, but he had no desire to do any grooming this morning. It wasn’t as though a shave was going to eliminate the bags forming under his eyes. Dammit. He had barely slept last night.
