We made it to the restaurant before the girls and were quickly seated at a long table. I took a seat facing the door waiting for Sadie and her friends to arrive. As we sat at the table talking until the smell of fresh cut wild flowers hit me like a ton of bricks pulling me from my conversation drawing my attention to the door. Oclan howled and pranced like a puppy in my mind at the sight of our mate.
"Mom, Dad look at the door" I whispered to my left knowing they would hear me.
"wha-" my mom stopped mid sentence as she looked up towards the door. I watched as tears welled in her eyes as she grabbed for my father's arm to get his attention. "M-michael it's her, it's really her Michael" she managed to get out between silent sobs.
My father who never showed emotions looked as if he could cry "you were right son, that is Sean and Marie's daughter our little Sadie"
At this point she noticed my and waved with a big grin painted across her face. The group was seated a few tables away and after she ordered she made her way over to our table.
"I see that you were able to make it" she said smiling as she walked up to our table.
"Of course, couldn't disappoint you on your birthday now could I?" I joked back.
"Sadie these are my parents Michael and Rebecca Sheehan and you saw the guys last night but they are Cillian, Patrick and Andrew." I stood giving her a quick hug as a greeting. When we touched the sparks exploded on my skin. I felt her pull back slightly obviously feeling them herself and saw the shock in her eyes. Oclan howled in my head as he spoke with Mai, glad that he could speak with her again.
"It is so nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Sheehan" Sadie turned to my parents shaking their hands "you have raised a gentleman"
The tears in my mother's eyes finally started to fall as Sadie was face to face with her.
"Mrs. Sheehan did I do something wrong? Are you okay?" Sadie's concerned voice pained me.
"You did nothing wrong dear. I promise you just look like old friends" mom replied " they passed several years ago and we lost track of their child afterwards"
"Well I guess it could be me I guess, my parents died when I was two years old" Sadie looked hopeful.
Sadie's POV
I stood there in shock at the idea that these people knew who my parents were. I had wondered about them my whole life and now that I have turned 18 I might finally learn who I really am.
Mr. Sheehan's voice pulled me from my thoughts "please dear take a seat no need to stand" as he motioned for me to take the seat across from John Luke.
"Thank you sir" I replied "like I said I might be the girl you knew, I don't remember my parents and my adoptive parents never met them. They actually adopted me after my aunt who had taken me in passed away"
"You both share the same birthday, How old are you turning today?"
"I turn 18 today" I replied
The voice in my head began to speak again "You are the Sadie that they knew"
John Luke reached out and touched my hand "has your name always been Sadie?" he asked quietly.
The voice in my head once again howled out the word mate at our contact.
"Yep Sadie Marie" I responded "my adoptive parents didn't want to change it since I already knew my name" John Luke and his parents smiled at the answer.
"The only thing I really know is that I was there when they died."
"Yes you were Sadie and you got a nasty scar on your left leg from it if you are Sean and Marie's daughter" Mrs. Sheehan spoke up with tear filled eyes.
"D-d-did you say Sean and Marie?" I choked out at tears filled my eyes at the names she said. Could it be could Sean and Marie truly be my parents I had heard their name in my dream now I was hearing them in real life and it just sounded right.
John Luke quickly came around the table and I felt electricity explode on my back where his hand rubbed small circles to comfort me.
"Yes Sean and Marie Murphy they were our best friends, you and JL grew up together you were best friends."
"Sean and Marie are the names in my dreams or nightmares depending on how you look at it"
"Oh honey I am so sorry" his mother exclaimed "just know your parents were amazing people. We would be more than happy to tell you more about them if you want."
"Mate is the boy in your dreams" I hear the voice again, great I am going crazy I turn 18 and lose my mind.
"I would love that Mrs. Sheehan" I said through tears.
"Then why don't we eat lunch and then we can talk about it" his father suggested.
I thanked them all and headed back to the girls tears still in my eyes confused by what I just learned.
"Sade are you okay!?" the girls all exclaimed in unison "what happened do we need to hurt him?"
"I-i am fine" I said taking a seat "I think they know well knew my parents before they died"
"Sade are you sure?" Kate asked concern lacing her voice.
"Yeah, I think so" I muttered "I am going to talk to them while you guys show this afternoon"
"Okay sis if you think it is a good idea"Kate hesitated "but you need to be careful and let us know where you are going"
"You know I will"
"Are you going to tell Dad?"
"Not yet Kate. I want to know for sure before I tell him"
"Good idea"
We all finished eating lunch and met outside of the restaurant. Andrew, Patrick and Cillian offered to go shopping with the girls and to show them around town so we headed one way and they headed another.
