Chapter 5: Meeting her family

At the moment, home suddenly sounded worst than jail. I hadn’t even thought about it. About going home. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go back. I regret everything and I wanted to apologize to my parents but I don’t know if I’m ready to face them. What if they never accept me back?

And while I was processing my thought, A knock came and it was the food delivery shane ordered.. I had totally forgotten about it. I and Shane had breakfast together and when we were done, he spent a good Amount of time convinceing me to go back home with him. And I finally obliged.

Actually it’s not like I had a choice. I can’t just rent a place here in Texas to stand a break life when my kids are taken away from me. I can’t just let Damien and his mistress go scot free. I will need every support I could get to take my kids back from them. I can’t fight him empty handed.

I can’t even afford for Damien to know I’m out of prison, he might do all it takes to poison the kids mind against me.

Good thing Shane buried the case with a huge amount of money.

My heart was somewhere at the pit of my stomach when we finally arrived at my parents mansion after a long drive.

Everywhere was still the same as I left it years ago. It was hundreds times more luxurious than the one I lived in with Damien. The mansion was so gigantic and made of glass walls. fleets of cars littered the premises. If I hadn’t been here before, I would think they sell cars here. Latest brands.

There are a lot of other things, But I hadn’t come here to observe my father’s mansion, I was here to meet my parents.

The rebellious daughter is back home!

I took a well needed deep breath to calm my nerves before walking out of the car with Shane.

“Don’t worry, you would be fine.” Shane passed me a soothing smile and somehow it was all I needed to relax. He offered his arm to me and I wrapped mine around it.

As We walked into the house together, a part me wished my parents wouldn’t be home but guess I was cruelly betrayed. because I walked right into my parents discussing at the living room.

Everything immediately froze around me when they turn towards door to find me standing there.

They had the greatest shock as they beheld me at the door.

I waited for the worst to happen. My heart beating faster than normal but the next my father did, swept me off my feet. “Caroline!,” his voice came out in whisper as tears began to cloud in his eyes. My father was in tears?

I took a sharp glance towards Shane who was beside me and he offered a small smile.

Then turn back to my parents, still in shock.

“Oh my goodness carolina!” That was my mother and The next few minute was most surprising turn of events in my life.

My father didn’t resent me as I had expected, he was infect the first person who advanced towards me and pulled me into a tight hug. I immediately felt welcoemed and accepted after 4 years of a life with Damien. My mother also did the same.

“My God, Lina. Where have you been all these years? Where did you find her Shane?” Mother peppered my ears with series of questions as tears cascades down her cheeks.

“C’mon Rosaline, let’s give her some breathing space. At least most important thing is that our daughter is finally back. Thank you so much Lina. For coming back to us.” Dad said staring at me with sad eyes.

And I couldn’t help but tear up.

“Off course, this calls for celebration!” My mother bubbled in agreement. “There is definitely going to be a welcome home party for my long lost daughter. And it’s going to be grand!” Mum was really so excited to have me back and I managed a smile.

“I don’t really want a party Mum. It’s already enough accepted me back, I’m so grateful for that.”

“Off course we will always welcome you home. You are not just our daughter, you are our heiress. What happened years ago was all my fault.” Dad intercepted looking so remorseful and that pricked my heart.

I went to dad and pulled him into a hug.

I have never expected this. I had never believe it’ll be so easy to reunite with my family. That everything will be so easy.

The one thing I could make out, is that I’m going to retain my possession as CEO of my father’s companies in partnership with Shane.

And I’m going to take away that bridge construction project Damien had held so dear. It’s going to be my first strike to him. And I don’t even need to worry how that will be possible. The oliverez will give up everything just to have a big coporation like my father work with them.

I will use my father’s influence and power to fight Damien.
