"Does Maddison still have something to finish for her wedding?
Skye's reverie stop when she heard Violet asked. She turned to her from the passenger seat with a little frown on her face.
It was quarter to seven in the Friday morning and they were heading off to the competition next town. They rode on Violet's orange Ram 1500 and their respective motorcbikes were at the back of the truck covered in black cloth.
"No." Skye replied to the brunette who was on the driver seat. She had a calm face as she drives, as usual. She was wearing a simple outfit today, jeans and a black windbreaker jacket. Her hair was on a loose and even though her arms and legs were covered, she looked hot.
"Everything was done. All she have to do is rest and get ready for it." Skye added before she crossed her arms and focused herself again on the sight outside.
She didn't know where they were exactly, all she knew was that they had been traveling for over an hour now. Away from her Maddison's house. Away from the comfort of her temporary bed.
"If so, why doesn't she want to go?" She heard Violet asked again.
This time she didn't looked at her and just sighed as she watched the trees slowly disappeared and all she can see we're houses.
"Watching me racing was the last thing she wanted to do. She hated it. She might just faint." She answered.
Violet can tell that her mate was still not completely recovered from what she had experienced three days ago. She hated it. Seeing her like that. She's been quiet throughout the ride and will only answered if she was asked to.
The usual Skye would probably the one who will get curious and asked some questions. She even bet to herself that she will probably talk nonstop if she doesn't have emotional struggle right now. And Violet wouldn't complain. She would choose a talkative Skye rather the quiet one.
"But she still bought you a bike." She replied. Her face remained serious as well as her voice. "She hated what you do but she was still supporting you. She's the best sister." She continued.
"Yeah. That's Maddie. She always care for me and support me... Just like mom." She said the last three words almost in a whisper but Violet clearly heard it. Her heart ached for her mate's soft and weak voice that she wanted to hold her hand.
"Maddison was only person one truly cares abouy me. if she disappears I don't know what will happen to me. She's the only one I had." Skye continued, Violet glanced at her. Her mind seems to travel elsewhere as she had stared blankly at the road ahead. She noticed the hard grip of her hand on her arm. Maybe she was trying to contained her sadness.
"But you had me now." Violet said on her mind as she focus herself again on the road. As her mind process those words, her fear and hesitation of accepting her mate disappeared for a moment and all she can feel and thought of is her love for her. And that all that matters now.
"Have you already thought about what you will do with the price money if we won?" Violet asked, changing the topic. She doesn't care if she talk much, she needs to divert Skye's thought away from her mother. She must and she will.
The auburn haired girl slightly smirked at what she said.
"The thoughts of us winning doesn't even cross my mind."she answered. When she realized what she said, her head immediately turned towards Violet.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean that you're not good enough, it's just that.... " Skye didn't finished what she was about to say. Violet just frowned.
"Do you know that one of my pet peeve was underestimating one's self? Especially yourself." Violet said in a serious tone as she glanced at Skye. Her strong demeanor didn't change but she's looking at her tenderly. She doesn't care is she goes soft for her, she just wanted to take her pain away.
"If you really wanted to win, you should always put in your mind that you will win. Nothing else." She added before she returned her gaze in the road.
Skye didn't reply and just turned quiet afterwards. Silence enveloped them throughout the ride. After about ten minutes or so, they finally arrived at the race truck.
"We're here." Violet announced, pulling Skye's attention.
The latter looked at the place with a frown. She didn't know that they were already at the place if Violet didn't inform her . She's completely unaware.
They both removed their seatbelt and opened the car doors.
The first thing that Skye noticed was the silence of the place. She don't see any other people and riders on the place. All she can see we're personnels of the race track.
"Where is everybody?" She asked, still looking at her surrounding.
"Probably on their way here. Don't mind them. The competition won't start until three." Violet casually answered before she walked towards the back of the truck.
Skye's head turned to her in a rushed. "What? I thought it was this morning." She followed her and Violet grab the black cloth on the back of the truck and removed it. Revealing her badass motorbike in front of them.
"No." She shortly replied.
Skye's frown deepened. "But why did we come here this early?" she asked.
Violet faced her. "Will do a test drive." She said in a half shrugged. And Skye didn't asked further. Of course they needed to if they want to win. She suddenly was amaze of Violet's dedication.
The latter removed the other cloth, revealing a Ducati superleggera V4. Skye's eyes automatically focus on the another badass bike in front of her. She was stunned on the beauty of it. Violet love the shine on Skye's eyes. She was almost lost on admiring it when she realized something.
"Wait. " She said and turned to Violet with a confused look. " Where's my bike?" She asked.
Violet put both of her hands on her jacket's pocket before she replied. "I left it on your house."
"W-what? Why? I don't get it."
For the second time, Skye witnessed the small smile that slowly form on Violet's lips again as she stared at most expensive and luxurious motorbike that she owned.
"You're not using that one. You'll gonna use this."
