"Please tell me you had enough alcoholic beverages to make me drunk!" Maddison laughed at her friend who shouted on the other line. It was Carson, her co-worker and a close friend. He is a quite good looking man and Maddison love his fashion style. Neat and smart casual look with a hint of femininity. She remembered the first year that they became friends, there are few girls who liked him but he ignores all of them cause he said that his gay ass was only meant for men. "Oh my god. You're just literally next to me, you don't need to shout. You're damaging my ears." Her Bestfriend Jess complained. Maddison can sense she rolled her eyes up on their friend. "Girl, you're over reacting again." Carson muttered. "I'm not." Maddison chuckled on the cat and dog duo. She's already used on listening to their banters. Although they talk and teased nonstop, she still finds it amusing. She took the pan out from the stove and poured the sauce on the Egg Benedict she made for breakfast. Her phone was on top of the kitchen island behind her. It was on a loud speak so she can clearly heard the two fighting. "You better not be on you're period now cause I hate dealing with your dramas and mood changes, ugh." Carson said and Maddison can picture out his annoyed face right now. "Excuse me. First of all, I'm not on my period, and second, you're the dramatic one on this group." Jess responded. She can heard the scraping of a chair against the floor on the other line. Jess probably turned to face Carson. "Oh, what?!" Carson exclaimed, a little exaggerated. "Hey guys?" Maddison butted in. She brought the plate with her as well as her phone and went to the kitchen's table. "I think you need to go back to your work, I'm gonna hang up now." She added and placed the food down. "Don't leave me yet Maddie." Jess pleaded in a soft voice and Maddison chuckled at her. Carson was right, she's moody. Maddison shook her head. "I need to Jess, I'm going to eat now. And I don't want to have my breakfast while listening to your fight. I love you two but I will not enjoy my food in such situation." "You're actually right." Carson commented. "And besides, we'll see each other tomorrow. You can to talk me whole day. I'm fine with that." Maddison pulled out the chair and sat. "And please, don't try to kill each other, I'm gonna need you two on my wedding day." She added. "I won't promise. Bye M, see you tomorrow." Carson quickly said before he disappeared from the line. Maddison heard Jess sighed. "I won't promise too. But yeah, bye for now, see you tomorrow. " The latter said. "Bye." Maddison replied with a smile before she hang up the phone and put it down on the table. Her house is quiet as she ate her food. Skye just left an hour ago with Violet. The latter invited her to go with them but she declined right away. She hated to watch her sister racing. But even though how much she hated it, she had no choice but to support her sister if that makes her happy. And besides, Violet was with her. She's definitely a hundred percent sure she won't let anything bad happen to Skye. As for Levi, he just left a while ago and went home. He needed to prepare for the his bachelor party which will be held on their own house together with their pack members. And as for her, she should be cleaning the house and her backyard for now for her bachelorette party. But thanks to Violet's offer, she didn't need to do that. All she needed to do is to prepare the foods for tomorrow. Yesterday lunch time. "Um, pardon?" A confused Maddison asked towards Violet. They were currently just started eating their lunch while they were waiting for Skye to come down from her room. "I can lend you my place. It's a house just beside my vineyard." Violet repeated with her usual serious face. "If you want to celebrate your bachelorette party at lunch time, I think it's the perfect place for it. The scenery is good, much fresher air, and the place is wide enough." She casually added before she ate a spoonful of salad from her plate. The couple were looking at her with a stunned face. They both can't believe what the brunette just said after Maddison invited her to go to her bachelorette party tomorrow if she wanted to. "Umm, I.... um, I-I don't-" Maddison started, she didn't know what to say, she glanced at Levi , silently trying to ask some help and thankfully, he was quick to response. "I think we don't need it. Maddison wanted a simple party and I think this house is enough." He said with a small smile on his lips before he resumed eating. "Yeah. He's right." Maddison agreed with a nod, facing Violet with a convincing smile. "I only have few guests, so we don't need a bigger place." Violet swallowed her food before she speaks. "But it's a really good place. There's pool and mini bar. I can provide wines and beers if you needed some" she added. She talks like she's dealing a business proposal and Maddison didn't know how to say no to her. "Thank you Violet, but we don't need it. We're fine here." Maddison replied, hoping that Violet will stop insisting. "And we don't want to bother you." Levi added. "It's nothing. No one was staying on that house actually. But I have a caretaker who maintained it. You would love it there. There's a pool and a karaoke at the bar. And there's no other neighbors too, so you can sing and party all you want." Violet said before she took a small bite of seared tuna. She's loving the tenderness of it and the heavenly flavor too. Maddison chuckled humorlessly at her. "That's so nice but I can't really accept your offer." "I insist." Violet instantly replied. She put her utensils down on her plate and crossed her arms. "Come on, just think of it as a thank you for inviting me for dinner last week." Maddison took a deep breath. Levi and her shared a glance for a second before she answered the gorgeous Alpha in front of them. "I'm sorry but-" "Okay. " Maddison's sentence was cut off when Levi butted in. Her head turned in a flash towards him , frowning. "We'll borrow your place for tomorrow." He added, pursing his lips afterwards. Violet nodded at him before she continue eating. While Maddison nudge her lover om his side and mouthed a "why?" to him. And Levi just gave her a smile and a half shrugged. Maddison's eyes turned to slits. She sighed for a second time before she faced Violet again. "Are you sure about it? We don't really want to bother you." Maddison hesitantly said. "Definitely sure." ------------------------------------------------------- Violet pressed the stopwatch as soon as Skye reached the finish line. She sighed before she walked towards her. The younger one already got off the motorbike when Violet went to her. She took her white helmet off and fixed her disheveled hair. "You took longer than your first try." Violet muttered as soon as she reached her. Skye unzipped and removed the sleeves of her track suit, the tops of her suit just hang on her hips. Skye was wearing a black polyester bra and Violet's eyes automatically landed on her sweaty tone stomach. She felt heat slowly spread throughout her body. Her mate looks so damn hot. "Yeah. I'm sorry." Skye replied and glanced at her. She frowned when the brunette just stared blankly at her. "Are you alright?" She asked. But Violet fell on deep ears as she continued to stare. Her pupils seems to be dilated as her hunger for her mate increases every seconds passed. "Violet?" Skye called her again as she wear her suit back. That's when Violet get back to her senses. "Huh?" She muttered. "Are you alright?" Skye asked again, she was a little worried for her. She looks like she was lost for a moment. Violet took a really deep breath. She knew her face was as hot as a tomato now and she's hoping Skye won't notice it. "Why are you so red?" But she did. "It's nothing. It's just so hot today, don't you think?" She tried to say it casually while fanning herself and avoiding her mate's questioning look. It seems like her tough personality starting to fade away as she melted under her gaze. She's so down bad for her. "It is." Skye's short replied. "Do you want me to try again?" She immediately asked after a few seconds. She started to think that it wasnt enough for Violet. She should do her best. She didn't want to be the reason they won't win. "I'll do it again if you're still not satisfy enough." "I'll satisfy you instead." Violet's mind said right away. She was thankful it didn't came out on her mouth. "Okay. But we will take a break for a while, shall we?" ------------------------------------------------------- Maddison immediately stop on making a smoothie when there's a knock on the door. She turned the blender off before she got out in the kitchen and went towards the front door. She opened it and there she saw Vanessa, Piper and Seamus standing outside her porch. "Good morning Maddie." Piper was the quick one to greet her with a bright smile on her face. "Good morning guys, what's up?" She asked, giving them a smile too. It's been a while since she saw them and she admits that she quite misses them. "Come in." She added and make a way for them. But Vanessa just shook her head. "No need, Maddie. We came here for Skye. Is she there?" She asked and glanced at Maddison's back. Hoping to find the auburn haired girl inside. "We've been calling her but she doesn't pick up the phone." She added. Just yesterday she was able to talk to her after so many attempts, and now, she's not answering her phone again. "I'm sorry but she's not here." Maddison softly answered. Vanessa frowned. She wanted to ask where did she went but Piper beat her to it. "Where did she went? We wanted to invite her to watch the racing competition but she seems to have a plan of her own. I know she would love it." The sadness on her voice was evident. "Racing competition?" Maddison repeated when she heard Piper . mentioned it. "Is that the same one that is held next town?" She asked. "Yes is it." Vanessa answered. Her good mood suddenly dropped down when the person she wanted to see is not even here. "Well, you don't need to invite her, she's already there." Maddison replied, crossing her arms afterwards. "Really? She did plan to watch without inviting us?" Piper asked. She looks like a sulking child and Maddison can't help but laughed a little at her. She then cleared her throat before she speaks again. "No. She's not there to watch. She joined the race. " Three faces were stunned when they heard it from Maddison. "She did?" Vanessa quietly muttered. Skye had joined the competition without even telling it to her. "Hmm." The older one replied with a nod. "Wow, she's cool." Seamus said, while trying to imagine Skye with her motorbike driving fast on the race track. He would surely shout his lungs out for his friends when they got there. He'll cheer for her. "Wait, I heard they change the mechanics, they need to race with a partner right? Who's with her then?" Seamus added with curiosity. Vanessa's attention focused on the question. They indeed change the rules and she desperately wanted to know who was Skye's partner. She felt jealousy consumed her and she can't help it. Maddison smiled before she answered. "Violet." Three of them turned silent for a while hearing the name. The. Piper asked afterwards. "Violet who?" "Violet Adams." Maddison answered, the smile not leaving her face. "W-what?!" Piper and Maddison got startled on Seamus voice. He looked so shocked. "As in the Violet Adams?" Maddison chuckled at him and replied. "There must be no other violet adams here, right? She's the only one I know. And she's actually the one who invited Skye to join the race." "No way. H-how? Are you sure about that? You're just kidding right?" Seamus exclaimed. Piper punched his arm to stop him but it he doesn't even felt a little pain. "Don't talk to her like that." Piper glared at him. "What?" He glared back at the younger woman. Meanwhile, the quiet Vanessa wasn't even bothered by their banter as her mind clouded by thoughts. The time when Levi said that Violet agreed to have a dinner with them as a thank you for helping Skye to get home the day she's nowhere to be found, she already had a feeling about them. It doesn't need a smart person to know it but she kept denying it, and hoping it wasn't true. "How did they became so close? First, the dinner and now they got to race together. Tsk, it was so unexpected." Seamus can't believe that the fierce and cold Alpha have got to be friends with their friend. He thought hard in how Skye lurred the beast. "That's because Skye wasn't just other person for her." Four heads turned on the direction of the voice. It was Levi. Who was standing in the fiste step of the small stairs of the porch. "Skye is her mate."
