Skye took a small steps as she hesitantly walked down the stairs. She could hear the conversation from three people in the kitchen. Her thoughts seemed to have traveled somewhere, trying to find the reason why an elusive person like Violet would go to their house and wanted to have a lunch with them. Perhaps she did something unpleasant that Violet didn't like that night. She was so confused.
After a few minutes later, which felt like hours to her, she entered the kitchen with a gentle face, contrary to her character. It may look like the three didn't know she was there because they didn't turned to her direction, but honestly, Violet have heard her from the moment she stepped out on the shower.
The moment Maddison saw her, she gave her a warm smile. "Finally, you're here." She said.
Violet turned around to her from where she is sitting. The brunette had a serious face but her eyes seems to show something that she can't quite point out. It's different how Violet looks at her now. It's intense but lightly soft.
Suddenly, she felt conscious standing there on the doorway wearing a deep green oversized t-shirt and a white shorts. Does she look like stupid? Maybe not. But she definitely looks pathetic.
"Come on, Skye. Sit down and eat with us." Levi's charming voice pulled her out from her reverie. She eventually noticed there were various of foods served on their dining table.
Although she still doesn't have an appetite, she forced herself to sit with them. She chose to sat on the empty seat next to Violet. Well, she didn't really have a choice since the dining table only had four chairs and it's the vacant one. She felt Violet stare as she sat down but she tried to ignore it.
Maddison immediately took a piece of seared tuna steak and put it in her plate. "Taste it, it's delicious." She said with a smile not leaving her face .
Skye's eyebrow perked up before she could even take a spoon. "But you don't eat tuna, how can you say it's delicious?" She asked her sister, who was in front of her. She looks at her with a slight grimaced on her face.
Maddison paused for a moment, she was quite surprised to what her little sister said. Her mouth was hang slightly open, trying to say a word but stop when all of them heard Levi chuckled.
He stopped right away though when Maddison glared at his direction. He composed himself and took a spoonful of roast beef with vegetables and put it on his mouth. Skye just looked at them with a frowned . When she turned to her left, she catched a glimpse of a smile on Violet lips before it quickly gone and the brunette started to eat her food on her plate.
"Well, Violet said it's delicious and I believed her." Skye glanced at Maddison when the latter said it. Her face was a little serious. "Go on." She added and nod her head towards the food on Skye's plate.
Skye sighed and took her spoon. She get a small portion of tuna steak and put it on her mouth. She can feel the stares of the three as she silently chew the food in her mouth. It was indeed delicious. It was so tasty that Skye took another. She felt hunger now as soon as the food filled her empty stomach. She took another piece of tuna and put it on her plate. And she also took some of each foods on the table.
Maddison smiled while she watched her sister eating. Finally, she ate some and it gave her a relief.
Skye stopped for a moment and looked at them confusingly. Violet, Levi and Maddison were just watching her eating.
"Aren't you gonna eat?" She asked, trying to avoid eye contact with them especially the woman beside her and just ate her food.
The four of them continued eating their lunch. No one talk in the span of almost half an hour. It's like all of them just waiting for someone to start the conversation. Skye desperately wanted to asked what was Violet's agenda. She's hoping Maddison would be the one to asked that.
"So, umm, do you have plans for today, Skye?" Maddison asked her. It's not the question she wanted her to asked for but she answered anyway.
"Nothing." She said.
"Well.." Maddison started. Skye patiently waited for her to say something more but it's like she had a hard time saying it.
"Did I do something wrong?" Skye suddenly blurted out. She looked worried.
"W-what?"Maddison stuttered. She wasn't able to said another word when Skye took a deep breath and turned to looked at Violet on her left.
"I'm sorry." She mumbled, trying to look in those two beautiful bluish gray eyes that is confusingly staring back at her. Violet frowned at her.
"If... if I did something inappropriate that night, I'm sorry." Skye added in a soft voice. Violet's inner wolf immediately melted on that voice and she wanted so desperately to console her.
Violet clenched her jaw and sighed. "You have nothing to apologize for." She said, in a slightly deep voice.
She carefully placed her spoon and fork on her plate and continue to look at Skye. "I know you're wondering why I'm here, but that's not the reason why. You did nothing." She added, while the two couple in front of them just silently listening.
She glanced at them for a second before she speaks again. "I'm actually here to asked a favor from you. You can say no if you don't want to." She confidently said, but deep inside she felt embarrassed.
Skye was confused and was quite surprised that a person like Violet Adams would go all the way to her home, joined them for lunch just to asked her for a favor. What could it be?
"What is it?" She asked.
"Are you up for a drag race?"
