CHAPTER TWENTY As he carefully stepped down from the houseboat to the aluminum row boat docked at the side, he scanned the water. He knew how cunning and crafty alligators could be. One moment there would be only still, murky water and the next there would be a pair of reptilian eyes peering up just over the surface. But the water was empty of them now. Off to his left a fish jumped and made a splash, and he could see a bullfrog bobbing up and down over on the bank closest to him. But no gators. He rowed to the bank that would take him to the hidden clearing where he kept his truck parked. Gnats whirled overhead, stirred awake by the growing heat of the morning sun. He knew who he would strike next. He also knew that he was getting too cocky. Killing Gary Anderson had been far too easy
