CHAPTER TWENTY ONE Camille could tell by the defeated expression on Humphrey's face that he and his team hadn't had much luck with their attempts at digging through records. Camille and Palmer found Humphrey and Bradford sitting in the small conference room at the Hen Creek station, both leafing through files like men looking for a needle in a haystack. "Any luck with Lizzi Stone?" Bradford asked. "None," Palmer said as he and Camille joined them at the table. "How about you guys?" Camille asked. "Anything at all? Even a nibble?" Both men shook their heads. "Other than the fact they all lived within twenty-five miles of each other, there's absolutely nothing that links them." "That's why I'm thinking the connection we're looking for might not even be among the victims," Camille said.
