She pulled away from the kiss and looked up at the person she had just kissed. She felt like a cold bucket of water was poured on her. He looked familiar, but that wasn't a good time to remember where she had seen him. She had just kissed a stranger in front of a lot of people, gawking at her.
She moved back a bit when she heard. "You now kissing strangers, huh? You should be ashamed of yourself." Dylan screamed, but Audrey was less bothered about that. She looked so embarrassed and could feel another emotion building inside of her. She wanted to leave instantly, but she could not even move her legs. She had kissed a stranger; he was gawking at her.
"You should be the one ashamed of yourself, Dylan!" She heard Mira scream at him.
Immediately, she felt a hand on her wrist, and she was pulled out of the room. She saw who it was, but she couldn't even resist. She just followed him quietly. She could hear Mira scolding Dylan as she left.
She didn't know where he was taking her to, and she also didn't ask. She just kept following him, even though she thought he might want to punish her for what she did.
He finally stopped in the parking lot beside a black car. He let go of her hand and looked at her. "Well... I thought you might need some space. And... Elvis couldn't finish his words when she burst into tears, wailing loudly.
"Are you okay? Are you in pain?" He asked, seeing her touching her chest tightly. He became more worried when she bent down to cry more. He had never seen a lady cry that much before, so it made him look like a fool. He should be angry she took advantage of him, but strangely, he wasn't. Instead, he was worried about her. He just took his long jacket and draped it over her body.
Audrey bent on the ground to cry more. She couldn't believe a stranger, who she had taken advantage of, could be so caring, while a man she had known for two years cheated on her and treated her like trash. She wished she wouldn't act so weak, but she couldn't stop the tears from running out of her eyes.
"How would she live now? What would she do? What would she tell her parents tomorrow? Would she even go?" Those were the questions in her mind, but she knew she had no choice; she would have to go, especially when she had assured her mother.
She finally stopped crying after some time. She stood up and wiped her tears. She finally came back to herself. She felt like buckets filled with embarrassment were poured on her. She avoided his eyes as she spoke. "I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't mean to do it. Please forgive me." She begged, making sure not to look up to him.
She was waiting for him to say hurtful words, but she heard him ask a question that made her look at him. "He's your boyfriend?"
She stared at him not because she was angry, but because she was taken aback by his question. "I would say was. He cheated, and we broke up. So..." She hesitated before she finally stopped talking.
Elvis didn't understand why he would ask a question that he already knew the answer to. He was never nosy in people's matters, but strangely, he was acting like it. He wished he could go back inside the club and punch her boyfriend, who didn't deserve such a good person.
They both became quiet with no one ready to say a word, or perhaps too awkward they didn't know what to say next, until Audrey cleared her throat and said, "Um... Can you be my fake date for the Christmas holiday?"
She immediately covered her mouth. It sounded okay in her head until she said it out. What was I thinking? Kissing him without permission wasn't enough. Now she's proposing another disappointing thing to him. She was so desperate because of the promises she made to her mother. "I'm so sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me. I should go." She spun around to leave, but stopped when he said. "It's fine. What were you saying?"
"Well... I and my boyfriend were to visit my parent's house tomorrow for the holiday, but it can't happen again... And I don't want to... you know... disappoint them. But it's fine. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you after everything I've done." She apologized again, followed by a forced smile, before she turned away to leave.
"I'll do it," Elvis said immediately without thinking. For the first time in his life, he didn't care about his pack or what his father might do if he didn't attend the pack's party. The lady looked like she needed help, and strangely, he couldn't overlook it. Perhaps he just pitied her because of how her boyfriend had acted to her in front of everyone.
"It's fine, please. I've done enough." She said, but heard again. "I insist. Well, unless you have someone that could help." She finally agreed. She has no one she could ask, and he insisted, so maybe it's not bad to try.
"Thank you so much. You don't know what you've done for me. Thank you..."
"Elvis."
"Ok, Elvis. I'm Audrey." She smiled. Elvis also smiled lightly. It looked like she wasn't the one crying minutes ago, and he was happy she was smiling back, even though he knew she was still feeling down.
"Do you want to go home? I'll drop you off," Elvis said, meeting her gaze again.
"No. I came with my friend in her car. She's probably looking for me now." Audrey said, to which Elvis only nodded his head.
The atmosphere was awkward, with none of them saying a word. They both stare into each other's eyes. Audrey was feeling so uncomfortable and hot that she tried to look away from him until she heard. "Can I have your phone?"
Audrey looked back at him with a hint of surprise in her eye, but she still gave him, anyway. She watched him as he punched his numbers in. "You can call me tomorrow, Audrey."
Audrey smiled as she nodded. She never expected her name could be that sweet from someone's mouth. "Thank you."
"My pleasure. Good night, Audrey." He said this before opening the car door to enter. Audrey also stood there and watched him as he drove away.
She also walked away to go look for where her friend Mira packed her car.
