Worlds flipped upside down

She ponders at the thought of going home in two short weeks, she thinks about leaving everything she knows behind. Her human friends and her fake parents especially Beth her “best friend” which she had actually grown to like since they’ve gone to school together since they were the age of 6. To know that Kitsune will be thrown into everything in the underworld, the only reason her father has let her go on like this in the mortal world is because of his fear and hers. I mean he isn’t even my real father, she thinks to herself when she hear footsteps come to a knock on her door. “Avery, I mean Kitsune” her fake mother stops then speaks again waving her hands “I’m sorry I’m just so used to your human name I forget”. I sit on my bed looking at her, with my eyes becoming glossy from my tears, I stutter when I speak “I..I.. it’s okay, I still can’t believe he(my father) gave me a fake name too, I feel like my worlds are turning upside down but literally they are”, I stop for a moment falling back to lay down “I really don’t wanna go, I want to be Avery and I want to be normal Lilly”! I raise my voice as I feel the warm tears streak my tan cheeks. Lilly at this point comes and sits down by my side brushing her hand through my long black hair comforting me. “Oh hunny I really wish that was the case but..”, she breathes deeply then says again “ but you’re not normal, and you are the most powerful person I know”, She sits me up and hugs me. She’s always so warm and comforting it makes me feel safe. “Kitsune, you belong there not here, and your poor father needs you there now” she pauses brushing my hair out of my face to see my caramel eyes “ I mean you have a brother, Two actually! And your father still chooses you to rule”. I look at her desperately and stand to walk down stairs. I let out a huff “ Yeah, and I’m not even his blood but he wants me to be a queen” I give her a glare as I’m walking out, as she rises from the bed side “ good job of a father making the child he found in the woods a queen”! I can hear Lilly’s foot step following behind me as I walk down the stairs. I get to the the end of the steps and feel a low grumble in my stomach then my head starts to feel light turning to Lilly I blurt out “ When the hell is Jack coming home! I’m hungry and getting irritated”! Lilly looks at me wide eyed “ s***t.. he said he’d be home in 20 minutes, which was like 20 minutes ago so any minute now. Just stay calm Kitsune I don’t need another rage episode”. She see’s my eyes getting fired up, as I hear the doorknob click and it swings open. Jack is a big man, and I hear his big footsteps clunk towards the kitchen “Your late”! I scream while heading to his presence, when I smell my goodness of food. Well my type of food, human food is gross. He leans on the counter and mimicking me he bickers back “ by like what 2 minutes?! The guys were late can’t help that Aver..” he pauses “Kitsune sorry, I forget”. He hands me a red pouch out of the box and I snatch it tearing it open and drinking, I gulp in satisfaction. “you know if I didn’t need special blood I could just take a bite out of you too, but luckily my victims don’t dye; unless staked” I say with sarcasm as they roll there eyes at me. “Humans are lucky I can’t eat them” I laugh with a playful smile. Jack gives a low sarcastic chuckle “When you go home I don’t have to pick up a box of vampire blood from creepy underworld dudes, you can just get it fresh” he winks at me putting the rest of the pouches in my section of the fridge. I look at him not amused “haha very funny”, I say rolling my eyes. I hear Lilly laughing in the back. Lilly joins at the counter after patting Jack “You know you can go to school with kids like you now” she pauses as she fixes her statement before I get mad “I mean kinda like you, you’re very special Kitsune”. I look at her upset that she said I’m special for the 15th million time. I let out a low growl as I set my finished pouch on the table “ I’m not special Lilly, I’m just a lab baby that went wrong and they got rid of me! I mean my father didn’t even know what he got himself into when he found me, he thought I was a normal vampire! Until little O’L me decide to start doing magic, then I got sent here. I mean to make it worse just two years ago I had to get used to shifting into an Animal”! I paused out breathe, because I’m now heated. Lilly staring at me wide eyed and shakes her head. “ You know it’s not like that, he did it for your safety and we.. Jack and I went through a lot trying to raise you too. Trying to figure out why you wouldn’t grow and drink human blood? Come on Kitsune be nice for once” she’s still staring at me and I feel me and my inner self sink down, my wolf doesn’t like being challenged. “Also”, Lilly continues “There’s a name for it, Hybrid”. I look at her with a death stare before I go to the other room saying out loud “More like a Tribrid, because I’m three not two”! The next weeks go by faster than I wanted them to and I keep getting bombarded by my friend Beth “So what do you mean your leaving? And you only tell me this Two days before”?! I can tell she’s upset but she wouldn’t understand because she’s human and I’m not. “And where are you going”? She adds in with a confusing tone. I look at her confused because, I can’t tell her the truth “It doesn’t matter really, You’ll forget about me anyways”, which I wasn’t lying the witches would put a memory spell on her but she doesn’t know that. It’d be like I was never there “just don’t worry about it”, I add in. She furrows her brows at me and I wanna laugh because her small pale face and dark brow’s don’t match her blonde hair “Don’t worry about it”! She raises her voice at me “What do you mean don’t worry about it”?! She yells once more. My ears are ringing from he high pitched voice “Lower your tone please”, I say to her as a motion to my ears. “Right” she says “Avery(Kitsune) and her sensitive ears, maybe I will forget about you just because of this”, tears roll down her cheeks and I feel so bad, that I can’t tell her the truth. So I just give her a hug and mutter “I’m sorry, I will miss you Beth” I pause as I feel the warm tears streaming down my face “I won’t forget about you I promise”, sniffling I say at last “I’ll visit”. Which I knew was a lie but she perked up and said “promise”? I looked at her crying more because I hate lying to her “promise”, I finally say back as I let her go. Those next two days she kept in touch by texting me, until it stopped the morning of and that’s when I knew she had forgotten about me also it was time. I lay in my bed for sometime before I hear Jack downstairs yell at me “Kitsune, It’s time to get up, we leave at noon”! I turn over and groan before saying “Okay I’m up” before I hear him come upstairs, then his footsteps fade back into the kitchen. I rise out of my bed stumbling to the bathroom to turn on the shower. After showering I blow dry my hair, not worrying about doing it or my makeup because I know my dad probably has a party planned and they’ll do it for me. I put on a baggy moss green tee and a pair of black straight leg jeans, I can’t ever wear skinny jeans they’re so uncomfortable. I hear Jack yell up at me once again “Come on we’re leaving in five minutes”! I stagger down to the steps, walking down seeing him at the bottom. My stuff is in bags all piled at the bottom of the stairs, I pick up a bag to help Jack load the car. As we get the last bag in Lilly comes out “You ready”, she raises an eyebrow at me “I guess” I say in a dreadful tone, getting into the car. The whole car ride was silent, I sat in the the back on the passenger side looking out of the window as the trees passed us so fast. Why did it have to be so far, I thought to myself as I heard Lilly shuffle some things then look over her shoulder at me “Where almost there, don’t worry”, she said noticing my boredom. I know when she says we’re almost there we actually have an hour to go, that means an hour more to look at tree’s without anyone saying a word. But to my surprise Jack starts humming a tune and taping a beat “hmm dum bum”, it’s nice at first but after awhile I just want him to stop. I glare at him and he sees it through the rear view mirror and stops quietly then let’s out a chuckle “You know usually this drive is fun but since you’re not coming back this time it’s sad”, he eyes me in the mirror “I’m going to miss you kid” he says at last. I sigh at him “I’m going to miss you too”, then I hear Lilly huff sarcastically “what about me”? She pauses “Sweet O’l Lilly who dealt with your tantrums”? I laugh and so does she “Don’t worry I’m going to miss both of you”! Still laughing we reach the destination, and the car comes to a stop. I get out of the car to stretch my legs as I see him, my father king of the werewolves and witches since he married the queen; who used to be princess. He signals some of the guards standing next to him to start grabbing my stuff, as I walk over to him and fake a smile “Hey, dad”, I say stopping in front of him. He reaches over to me and pats my back, this man is the definition of lack of affection I think to myself. He nods to me as he looks over at Jack and Lilly “I appreciate you two and how much you’ve done, thank you”, he pauses then says once more “I mean it”. Jack let’s out a warm smile with his hand wrapped around Lilly’s waist “My pleasure Dominic”, Lilly smiles big too “She’s like a daughter to us it’s nothing”. The guards motion towards my father after they gathered everything “Were good to go sir”, I hear one of them say. Then my father lets out a sigh “Say your goodbye’s Kitsune, It’s time to go”, then walks over to the edge of the mountain to open the portal. I run over to Jack and Lilly giving them a big hug “I’ll miss you” I mutter as jack pulls me away from them “Remember us Kitsune, because we won’t remember you”, I can see tears running down Lilly’s cheeks as I say at last “I will”. I walk over to my father and the guards leaving Jack and Lilly to watch me leave them forever this time for real. I wave one last time as I see the huge portal jump up, and now is ready for crossing. My Fathers guards head in first with my bags, then my father and at last me. We Have now entered the underworld.
