Chapter 4: Hidden Hills

The next day

Stiles POV

I turned up at Scott house an hour before school because I want to know what he called my dad for. I knocked on the door and heard a girl call Scott.

A few minutes later Scott opened the door and asked what was I doing here at this time.

"You said that you would tell me why you called my dad yesterday. So tell."

"I meant at school not at my house. I'm not sure it's a good idea for you to be here." He said which is unlike him.

"Scott let Stiles in I don't mind. As long as I can hit him if he annoys me." Called a voice I had never heard before.

"Are you sure." Scott called back

"Yes" the voice called

"Enter if you dare Stiles." Said Scott

"Hello"

I walked in side and saw girl on the sofa she sat there looking at me and smiled.

"Hello Stiles my name is Jana moon nice to meet you." Said the girl sitting on the couch.

"This is why I called your dad because Jana going to be staying with us for a bit and needs to be registered at our school." He said

Scott POV

" School oh no Scott I can't go to school." She said she looked worried.

"Why not."

"Because I may have been born a werewolf but I only shifted yesterday and I have no control over it." She admitted

"Didn't your parents teach you."

"Scott my parents were killed by Hunters soon after I was born."  She said  "I have been living with the nurse who found me and she human she knows I'm a werewolf but can't help me."

"Oh sorry"

"It's okay I don't remember them but I'm supposed to take over the pack but I'm no Alpha. Alpha are supposed to protect their packs but I can't even protect myself in school let alone a pack." She said

"Jana I think your stronger than you think."

She smiled at he.the hour flew by and now it's time for school.

"Al" *cough* "Scott what's my first lesson and where is it "she said

"Jana your in all of my classes don't worry."

"What were you going to say before you coughed Jana" Stiles asked

"Nothing nothing at all" she said with a smirk as if to say I know what going to happen in the future and can't tell you yet.

"God I love you."

What did I just say. 

Jana and Stiles are just starting at me. I feel uncomfortable.

Jana POV

Luna

Jana listen to me Scott our mate.

Jana

Well it sucks to be us then.

Luna

Because Scott has to stay here in his world and we can't stay because we will change history if we stay sorry Luna

Luna

Sadly I know that you are right were going to be mateless.

"Scott I have always had a crush on you and that's the truth."

Scott looked at me smiling.

"Okay I'll leave before I'm sick bye." Said Stiles

Stiles POV

How has Scott got another girl and I have none no fair.

"Stiles in a ruffly a year and a half you will get something or should I say someone you have been waiting for since 3rd grade if I'm correct just you wait okay."

Wait is she talking about Lydia.

"Scott did you tell her about"

"Lydia no he didn't whoops. Bye" she said and ran out of the house.

Later at school

Scott POV

"Scott what's the date today" she asked

"July 8 why oh by the way you will be coming to the lacrosse meet too"

Jana looked pale and really scared and then she fainted. And with that she ran out of the school.

After school

Jana saw was waiting on the bus for us. She was wearing a gas mask.

"Erm Jana can you take that off please." Asked coach

"Can you get rid of your whistle" she replied

"No" he said

"Then you know my answer"she said

And then she looked at Ethan and then at Boyd, then at Isaac and then at me.

"Scott I'm really am sorry for this." She said

"What are you talking about Jana" Stiles asked

"I can't tell you.sorry" she said

"But I will tell you that two things will happen to Scott today one might have saved his life and the other is on Stiles's head." She said

"What do you mean on Stiles's head."

"I mean whether you live or die is up to Stiles." She said with out looking at me "oh and tell Lydia when you see her to beware the numbers 198 and 201."

"Will do Jana but can you give us a hint about what might have saved me"

"Okay you can thank Alison mum. When you see Allison ask her if she knows what I mean I think she will." Jana said I think she was sad she couldn't tell me.

Later while I was talking to Stiles she put five fingers up and then it went to four she counting down to what.when she got to zero my stomach hurt and Stiles lifted it up and saw my cut wasn't healing he said I looked as if it was getting worse and then Jana pointed behind us and then to Stiles. Who had his phone out and was calling Alison he said that they had been following the bus. He then asked coach to pull over it didn't work so he made one of the other students sick so coach pull over in a at the services where Stiles and Alison as well as Lydia take me to the bathroom.

Alison POV

Scott was bleeding to much I had to sew it up but I can't thread the needle and then I saw my mum appear and she said just thread the needle or he's dead. I just after she said that I managed to do it and sewed up Scotts wound.

Scott POV

Alison had managed to close my wound. And then I saw Jana coming to us she nodded her head.

"Sorry" she said

"Sorry you knew Scott would have died if Alison wasn't here and you didn't tell us how long have you know." Shouted Stiles

"Since this morning." She said

"Alison Jana said something about thanking you mum for closing my wound but you did so I don't understand."

"I couldn't thread the needle untill I saw my mum who said if I didn't carm down and thread the needle you would die. So Jana was right because if she didn't appear I don't think I could have done it." She said shocked

"Stiles we laughed at it on the bus but I think you should tell Lydia."

"Yes you should after all Boyd's going to go for a swim of all swim, Isaac going to have a mental breakdown, Ethan going to want to cut off half of him, and Scott going to go up in flames unless Stiles saves him but then Lydia has to save them all." She said

Everyone looked at Lydia.

Then Jana put her gas mask back on and went back on the bus  we all looked at each other.

"Who is she scott." Asked Alison and Lydia at the same time.

"She is a werewolf who's staying at my house"

Later

We arrived at a motel it was called motel California.

"Scott Jana had a nightmare about us and this motel." Said Alison

"We don't have a room for you." Said coach to Jana

"I'll sleep on the bus thanks."she said

"Jana's strange she called me an alpha"

"Did she then she not as strange as you think." Said Alison

Everyone looked at Alison.

"What" said Alison

"What do you mean"

"I can't say" said Alison

We all turned around to see Jana shaking her head.

Me and Stiles are in the same room.

Later

Jana POV

Jana

Stiles and Boyd are at the vending machine.

Luna

Yes they are we should write everything down and stick to a timed schedule to make sure we are safe.

Scott POV

I went to brush my teeth and in the mirror I saw my eyes were changing colour so I looked closer and they were alpha red and then returned to bate yellow. Oh my god that's must be what Jana's was talking about well it's either that or Jana is starting to mess with my head.

Stiles POV

Hmm I'm going to go to the vending machine.

"Hey Boyd"

He didn't answer me hay he is getting peanut crackers.

"I was going to get that too."

The vending machine stop I was about to push the vending machine over when he punched his hand through the vending machine. I wiches is wired for him.

Allison POV

I went into the shower while Lydia went to get some towels the door opened and i heard someone coming into the bathroom so I pulled back the curten so I could get the towels to find Scott I shouted at him but he was in some kind of trance untill he touched the water then he snapped out of it and ran out. I got dried and then I called Lydia and Stiles.

Lydia POV

I left the motel room as Allison went into the shower. I went to get some more towels. When I got to resption I asked for the towels and saw  the numbers 198 I asked what it was about and the lady said it was the numbers of suicides that took place in their motel. This horrified me but what was more scary is Jana told Stiles to tell me to beware this number I think she knew we were coming here and knew I would see this number now I'm scared.

Isaac pov

I was changing channel but each one was a fuzzy screen.

Alison POV

I picked up my phone and called my dad.

"Do you want me to come and pick you up. I don't mind a late night drive." He said

"No,no. it's okay. we're at a motel"

"The school paid for that" he said

"Yeah, yeah. It's not great but its, um, just for a night."

"What's it called?" He said

"The Glen Capri. Do you know it."

"It sounds familiar." He said " lisen, sweetheart, I'm gonna hop in the car and come and get you guys."

"No, dad. Seriously,it's okay."

"If there's something you feel like you can't tell me,I just want you to know you can talk to me. We don't have to keep anything from each other."he said

"I know"

I ended the call there.

Lydia POV

I gave Alison her towel and told her about the suide number.

"198?"she asked

"Yes. And we're talking 40 years. On average, that's 4.95 a year,which is actually expected. But who commemorates that with a framed number? Who dose that?who?"

"All suicides?"she asked

"Yes. Hanging, throat-cuting, pill-popping,both-barrels-of-a-shotgun-in-the-mouth suicides. I don't know about you, but me I..."

And then I hear some talk

"Which... which one do you want?"said unknown man.

"Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Said Alison

"I don't know. The smaller one I guess." Said unknown girl

"It's okay. smaller's better. There less kick." Said unknown man. "I'll chamber the round. All right, so..."

"Wait,wait." Said unknown girl

"When do I ... I mean,do you count?" said unknown girl

"Yeah, yeah, I'll ... I'll count to three." Said unknown man

"So after three on three?" Said unknown girl

"You tell me." Said unknown man.

"Lydia" said Alison

"One,two... Then pull the trigger."Said unknown girl

"Oh my god."

"I love you" said unknown man

"I love you, too"said unknown girl

"One, two..." Said unknown man

After that I hear a gunshot

"What is it, Lydia? What happened?" Said Allison

"Didn't you hear that?"

"Hear what?" She asked

"The two people in the other room they shot each other."

"Lydia"called Alison

When I ran out the room.

"Hello?"

"Lydia what are you doing?" Said Allison

When I went into the room

"Hello?"

I found a light and turned it on to find the room was being renovated.

"It had to be right here. It was a guy and a girl, and they sounded younger,but... They were here."

"I believe you. After everything we've been through, I believe you." said Alison

I turned around and looked at the wall and hear whispered and what looked like screaming faces on the wall.

Boyd POV

I went to go and get some ice for the ice bucket.and I heard

"Don't. Don't leave me. said Alicia (Boyd's dead sisters) You weren't supposed to leave me .

"Alicia?"

I move the ice out of the way

"Why did you leave me."said Alicia

I saw a body under the ice so I continue to move it.

"Alicia?"

Untill I saw her face.

Lydia POV

"You know,there is something seriously wrong with this place. Hey Alison, we need to leave."

"But they were suicides, not murders, and it's not like this place is haunted, right?" Said Allison

"Maybe it is. You know, I bet that couple made their suicide pact in that very room. Maybe that's why they're renovating. Maybe they've been scraping brain matter off the wood paneling."

"Maybe we should find out."

Narrator pov

Isaac was laying on his bed and heard a thumping sound and woke up.

"Boyd?"he called

Then he hears his dead dad's voice saying "hand me  the 7/16 th wrench. What the hell? This is 9/16th, you moron. You know what the difference between a seven and a nine is, dumb-ass?"

Then Isaac repeats it

"You know what the difference between a seven and a nine is, dumb-ass? It's a stripped bolt."said Isaac ( as his dad)

"A stripped bolt." Said his dad

"I'm sorry I didn't... What do you want me to do?" Said Isaac as himself

"I want you to shut up." Said his dad

"I want you to shut up. Shut up,shut up. What can I do?   I can't fix this now.I can't fix this now.I can't fix it.I can't fix it. Said Isaac having a mental breakdown.

"I can't even keep it closed. Grab the chains." Said his dad

"What?(Isaac) I said grab the chains. Get in. I said, get in.( Isaac as his dad)" said Isaac

"Are you not hearing me,son? Get in the damm freezer! Get in."said his dad

Isaac jups back on to the bed grabs the pillow holds it over his ears and rolls over he then rolls back and looks up only to see he's in the freezer and the door is closing

Alison POV

Me and Lydia go to see the lady in resption.

"Well,there goes that." Said Lydia

"Didn't you say the sign said 198 like the number Jana said beware of ?"

Lydia look at the number which now read 201

"It was 198. I swear to god it was 198 just like Jana said." Said Lydia

"Okay, what does that mean, there's been three more suicides?"

"Or there more about to happen." Said Lydia

"Lydia wait Jana said beware the numbers 198 and the number 201 she was warning us about the suicides."

Scott POV

I ran out of the bathroom because my phone was ringing.i answered it.

"Hey, mom, what's up? Mom?

"Scott?" Said Melissa

"Mom what's wrong?"

"I'm sorry,he just came in the house. I tried to stop him. Sorry." Said Melissa

"Who,mom? mom, where are you?"

"Outside look outside."said Melissa

I walked up to the window to see deucalion with his claws about to slit my mom's throat.

"Scott, can you hear me?" Said deucalion

" What do you want?"

" Isn't it obvious? Your alpha now, Scott" Said deucalion

"I'm not. I'm not. Derek could still be alive.he cloud..."

"He's dead. You know he is, so I'm coming for you. You and everyone you love.im coming for all of them."said Deucalion

And with that he slit my mom's throat.

Stiles POV

I saw Scott shaking and looking out of the window.

"Hey, scott, you okay?

He turned around and look at me he was terrified. Then I got a text from Lydia it said *need to talk. Just you.* So I went to them.

Alison POV

"Last time I saw Scott act like that was during the full moon."

"Yeah, I know. He was definitely a little off with me, too. But actually it was Boyd who was really off. I watched him put his fist througt the vending machine." Said Stiles

"See it's the motel. Either we need to get out of here right now or someone needs to learn how to do an exorcism ASAP before the werewolves go crazy and kill us." Said Lydia

"Okay, just hold on, all right? What if it's not just the motel? The number in the office went up by three, right?" Said Stiles

"You mean like three sacrifices? "

"What if this time it's three werewolves?" Said Stiles

"Scott, Isaac and Boyd."

"Maybe we were meant to come here." Said Stiles

" Exactly! So can we get the hell out of here now?  Please" said Lydia

"Wait,hang on. Let me see this" said Stiles

while he take the Bible Lydia was holding.

"What is it."

"28-year-old man hangs himself at the infamous Glen Capri." Said Stiles

he put the newspaper clipping on the bed and take the rest out.

"No. Look at these two. They both mention the room 217. These are probably all the suicides that happened in his room." Said Lydia

"So if ever room has a Bible ..."

" There could be articles in all the rooms." Said Lydia

"That's a beautiful thing. Most places leave a mint under the pillow. This one leaves a record of all the horrible deaths that occurred." Said Stiles

" What if the one next door has the one about the couple."said Lydia.

And with that we all left the room.

But the door was locked

" No, that was not locked before." Said Lydia

" Forget it. we need to get Scott, Isaac and Boyd out of here."said Alison

As we were about to leave we heard a hand saw turn on.

"I'm not the only one who heard that,am I?" Said Lydia

"It sounds like someone turned the handsaw on."

"Handsaw?" Said Stiles

We broke the door down to find Ethan holding the handsaw going to cut his stomach with it.

"Hey, no, Ethan, don't!" Shouted Stiles

Lydia pulls the plug out. So then Ethan trys to use his claws. And we tried to stop him but he only stop when he touched the heater.

"Ethan! Didn't you hear what I just said?"shouted Stiles

"I don't know how I got there or what I was doing." Said Ethan

" Okay, you could be a little bit more helpful, you know? We did just save your life." Said Stiles

"And you probably shouldn't have." Said Ethan

"What now?" Said Lydia

"I'll find Scott. You guys grab Isaac and Boyd. The best thing we can do is get them out of this place."

Lydia POV

Stiles was looking at me

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?."

" No, I..." Said Stiles

"Stiles"

"All right, Lydia, I didn't want to say anything, but this, everything we're going through, we're kind of been through something like this before, a lot like this." Said Stiles

"What do you mean? When?"

" Your birthday party. The night you poisoned everyone with wolfsbane." Said Stiles

Narrator pov

Boyd was in his bedroom siting on the bed when the radio turned on he turned it off but it turned on again and then a man was speaking

" do you remember what time it was when you last saw her?"said man

A younger Boyd responded " I don't know. I can't remember."

The man then said " sometimes it helps to put yourself right back in the moment. Imagine you're seeing Alicia skating on the ice rink. Plenty of people around and then what?"said man

" And then she was just ... She was just gone." Said younger Boyd

Boyd turns the radio off again only for it to turn back on.

" I told you, I was watching her. I didn't want to skate anymore. I was tired and I swear, I was watching her."said younger Boyd

"It's all right, Vernon. We're just trying to piece together what happened." Said man

Boyd pulls the radio out of the plugs. But the radio turned back on.

" Is she dead? " Said younger Boyd "Is it my fault? Is she dead?"

"Is she dead? Is it my fault? Is she dead?" Boyd repeats

Boyd throws the radio across the room.

Boyd then goes to resption and takes the safe.

Stiles POV

"Lydia, I'm sorry, okay? Look, I didn't mean that you're trying to kill people, okay? I just... I just meant that maybe, maybe you're somehow involved  in getting people to kill themselves,you know? Which now that I say that out loud it just sounds really terrible,so I'm going to stop talking."

"Stiles" said Lydia " do you hear that?"

"What?"

"Stop. Please, just stop!  What do you want? I don't know what you want." Said unknown woman

"Lydia what do you hear?"

"A baby crying." Said Lydia

"Quiet!" Said unknown woman

"I hear ... I hear water running.

Narrator POV

.back to his room and runs a bath and get in with the safe.

Jana POV

Jana 

Luna Boyd has started his swim.

Lydia POV

"It's time to sleep." Said unknown woman

"Oh my god."

"We're both going to sleep now. " Said unknown woman

"She's drowning the baby! Someone's drowning!"

We run to Boyds room and go into the bathroom to find Boyd under the water with a safe on his stomach.

"He blocked it. He blocked the drain with something. I can't get to it." Said Stiles

"What do we do?"

" Here, help me." said Stiles as he tries to lift the safe.

"Is he dead? How long can a werewolf stay underwater?"

"You think I know that? It's too heavy" Said Stiles

Stiles hits his hand on the radiator

"Wait a sec, the heater. Heater. Ethan came out of it when he touched the heater." Said Stiles

"What?"

"It's heat,fire. Heat dose it, all right? We need something..." Said Stiles

"He's underwater."

" Yeah, I'm aware of that." Said Stiles

"Wait,wait the bus."

" On the bus, they'll have emergency road flares. They have Their own oxidisers. They can burn underwater."

"Are you serious?" Said Stiles

"Yes, go"

So Stiles ran to the bus to get the falres.

I turned around to look at Isaac bet and have a feeling to look under it and I find Isaac

"I got'em. What do I do? How do I do this? Said Stiles

"The cap, it's like a match. The cap's  a match. Stiles."

"Yeah, I'm trying.  Whoa!" Said Stiles

We ran back into the bathroom and put it under the water Boyd came shorting out of the water. Then we went into the bathroom and put the flare in Isaac face.

"Hey Isaac got something here for you." said Stiles

We meet up with Allison

" I can't find Scott anywhere." Said Alison

"It's happening to him,too, isn't it?" Said Stiles

"It has to be"

"Didn't you say there was another flare on the bus?"

"Yeah I'll get it" said Stiles

"Oh my god he's got it look and that's a petrol can oh my god Jana said if you didn't stop him Scott will  Go up in flames."

" Scott" said Alison

" There's no hope." Said Scott

" What do you mean, scott? There's always hope." Said Alison

" Not for me. Not for Derek." Said Scott

"Derek wasn't your fault. You know Derek wasn't your fault." Said Alison

" ever time I try to fight back, it just gets worse. People keep getting hurt. people keep getting killed." Said Scott

"Scott, listen to me, okay? This isn't you, all right? This is someone inside your head telling you to do this. Okay? Now..." Said Stiles

" What if it isn't? What if it's just me? What if doing this is actually the best thing that I could do for everyone else? It all started that night, the night I got bitten. You remember the way it was before that? You and me. We were... We were nothing. We weren't popular. We weren't good at lacrosse. We weren't important. We were no one. Maybe I should just be no one again. No one at all."Said Scott

" Scott, just listen to me, okay? You're not no one. Okay? You're someone, you're ... Scott you're my best friend. Okay? And I need you. Scott, you're my brother. All right, so...  So if you're gonna do this, then I think you're just gonna have to take me with you." Said Stiles

"No"

"Beware the wind Lydia that's what Jana said  well we understand now." Said Stiles.

I look in to the flames and saw the darach.

We went on the bus and sleept.

Next morning

"I don't want to know. I really don't want to know. But in case you missed the announcement, the meet's canceled, so we're heading home. Pack it in. Pack it in!"said coach

Ethan sat next to Scott

" I don't know what happened last night, but I'm pretty sure you saved my life." Said Ethan

" Actually, I saved your life, but not that it matters that much. It's a minor detail." Said Stiles

"So I'm going to give you something. We're pretty sure Derek's still alive. But he killed one of ours. That means one of two things can happen. Either he joins our pack... And kills his own. Or Kali hose after him, and we kill him. That's the way it works. " Said Ethan

" You know your little code of ethics there is sort of barbaric,just FYI."said Stiles

As coach was coming down checking every one was on the bus i grabbed his whistle.

"Coach, can I see your whistle for a second?"

"Hey! I'm gonna need that back." Said coach.

I blew it and power came out.

"Wolfbane"

" So every time the coach blew the whistle on the bus, Scott, Isaac, Boyd..." Said Stiles

"And Ethan"

"We all inhaled it." Said Scott

"You were all poisoned by it.' said Alison

"So that's how the darach got in their heads. That's how he did it." Said Stiles.

Stiles took the whistle and Chuck it out of the window. As soon as we were five minutes away Jana took off her gas mask.

"You knew about the wolfbane that's why you put on the gas mask."

"Yes sorry" said Jana " the darach isn't a man it's a lady one you all know and one Derek knows a bit too well he with her now he just doesn't know it."

Jana's POV

Luna's POV

I took control and looked at scott and pinched his neck in lost of places say I was trying to get a fly. I stop went he shivered because I knew this was his sweet spot.

"I got it Scott oh and can I tell you a secret."

"Yes Jana but after please tell me why you have red eyes and your hair is now white." Said Scott

"Deal"

So I leaned closer to him and bit his neck in his sweet spot. He yelped. I was so happy.

"What did you do that for?" Said Scott

"I'll let Jana tell you bye."

Jana's POV

Jana

Oh my god Luna you didn't just do that did you.

Luna

Of course I did you wouldn't have done it. You would have left Scott behind and gone home and we both would have cried and we would be mateless I can't have that Scotts our mate and you know that but you were going to leave our mate behind. Jana we only have one mate and that scott. Why did you try to stop me.

Jana

Because Scott is a bitten wolf he doesn't know about werewolf mates and I can't say to Scott oh hey Scott you're my soulmate and if I can't have you I can't have anyone. Because then scott would feel bad. If Scott spends the rest of his life with me I want it to be because he loves me for me and not because he feels he feels obliged to do so.

Scott POV

I don't know how but some how I could hear Jana thoughts she was talking to Luna her wolf about me. I was her soulmate but she didn't tell me because she wants me to be happy. Wow. I carry on listening.

Jana

And then you go and mark Scott as ours without telling him or me. Now Scott won't be able to find happiness. And how do you know Scott wasn't going to reject us. He doesn't know us.

Luna

No your right he doesn't but admit it you feel safe around him and seeing what he did last night was killing you so you handcuffed yourself to the chair.

Jana

Yes I admit it I feel safe I love Scott always have always will but I won't forces him to be my mate. Because love has to go both ways not one.

Jana

Scott

Hunter

She's talking about me Scott my name is hunter and I'm your inner wolf just like Jana has Luna you have me nice to finally meet you.

Scott

Wow that's cool but why have I just met you.

Hunter

You tell me I've been trying to talk to you ever since you got bit and if you had listened I would have told you about wolf mate and about Jana I've been waiting for her for a while now.

Luna

Hunter

Jana

Yuck stop Scott help.
