Gill cheated everyday with Jessie and the both enjoyed every moment of it. They lived happily with each other while Lisa didn't even know the circumstance. Finally, on a bright noon, Jessie began having pains flow through her system. She called the attention of Gill and began to say the current circumstance. "My darling, I feel pains going through my stomach everyday and I don't know the cause". "Oh baby. Don't worry we will attend the hospital for you to get diagnosed". "Thank you". So they left the apartment to visit the hospital and when they arrived stayed in the waiting line. "Darling, the pain is escalating", screamed Jessie.
"Sorry honey. It's almost time". With that, their turn finally arrived and they went into the diagnosis room. "So how can I help you", said the calm doctor. "My wife seems to be experiencing some pains and I came here to assist her". "Take her to the check status room. She will be comfirmed there". "Oh thank you" was said by Gill as they left the diagnosis for the check status room. As they were moving Gill received a call, checked his phone and once his eyes caught glimpse of the name he dropped Jessie off at the check status room and rushed to answer the call. "Hello Lisa" answered a worried Gill. "Yea, where are you?. It's getting late and you are supposed to be back home by now". Gill played it safe and told her that he was at work before pretending that he was experiencing network issues. Afterwards, when Jessie asked of who was on the line, Gill replied stating that it was just a work problem and they carried on with their activities.
"Sir your wife will be comfirmed her status in the next two days", were the first words heard when he arrived at the scene. 'Miscontent but accurate', thought Gill as they strolled out of the hospital. They awaited the result of the checkup while as usual Gill left Jessie late in the night to visit Lisa.
"And where have you been", Lisa said with a stern look on her face. "I realised that you intentionally hung up on me. I am not dumb you know. So an explanation". As usual Gill wanted to lie his way out of trouble. All the years of his mother teaching him how to tell the truth instead brought the lie spirit out of him. "Well, if you must know; in work there are strict policies in some areas or fields that states that no phone is allowed, so I had to sneak my way out of trouble without hurting my darling's feelings". Of course, Lisa fell for it and pecked him on the cheek without a clue of the real actions, all Gill hoped was that one day all these atrocities won't come back to taunt him.
The day to check the result and Gill arrived for the first time since he had known Jessie with a bottle of beer. Jessie took it as nothing probably because her mind was too preoccupied to consider tiny pieces of detail. They both got in the car and went to the hospital.
As they arrived, the doorman noticed them at first sight and with strict orders rushed them to the labour room. "Where are you taking us?". "You will know when you see it" and with that they arrived at the labour room. The doctor exchanged pleasantries and sat them down for a brief talking to. "Pregnancy comes and goes at different intervals. Some when needed, some when not but I am here to inform that when it does come nurture it because the child that could be brought forth could be of grave importance". "Why are you telling us all this?", queried Gill. The doctor stopped for a brief moment, looked at them for whether they were ready and spoke. "Your wife is pregnant". A great chill filled the atmosphere as the two celebrated the new discovery. They were also told that the baby was already 2 months. 'What Jessie has given me, Lisa has not yet given me', Gill taught as he strolled on. They went back home and nursured the baby for about two weeks before Gill decided to do something drastic. "I am travelling for nine months". Gill said hiding the truth from Lisa. "What, really, you are, why now?", all these questions rained on Gill as he sought an answer to all. It was then concluded that the travelling was official and he will be leaving for nine months. Lisa believed it was for his job work place not knowing it was to cater for an undone child.
So with another lie, Gill packed his bags and all his tech equipment, went to the other side of town and began a new life. Lisa felt pitiful that for the past few months, Gill had not nursed the same love for her as usual. She gave herself consolation by considering the fact that during old age, she would be the only one available for him.
Gill left and lived with Jessie nursing the unborn baby presumed to be a boy.
