Gill and Laurel hardly communicated with each other after the reconciliation.
Then, it came the time when they decided to tell Sandra the situation.
"This is your supposed father, Gill", Laurel explained to Sandra.
"Oh, good morning daddy. Where have you been all this while", curious Sandra asked.
"I have been away on notable reasons", Gill then explained.
Sandra appeared closer to Gill and gave him a heavy hug. Gill smerked while Laurel admired the moment.
"I am so glad that you're back", Laurel said with a smerk.
"Me too. Nothing was working for me especially for those two women that I was working with", Gill mentioned.
"It's okay now. I forgive you. Now, a man and woman can't be staying in the same house without a marriage. So let's begin to plan", Laurel stated.
Gill was so happy to hear those words again from Laurel. All that time away and Gill thought that this dream would never come true, but here they are in the brimsk of marriage.
"First of all, let's move to our new apartment". "Sure, why not. Let's go", Laurel said beaming a smile.
They continued to discuss as they strolled on. "So, how did you end up in this crumbly apartment and without a good paying job".
"Well, I began to suffer the effects of your divorce. You were the only one providing me with money. I decided to go to your mother as my last form of hope but she fainted after hearing that you lied to her about something. I went to the streets and then, with the help of Dennis, flew to this place.
There was also this man who deceived me into going to an alley only just to beat me up and take my money", Laurel said with a face of despair.
Gill felt devastated. He decided to not tell Laurel about his incident with a man who deceived him into beating him up.
"Sorry to......", Gill was cut short by the sudden sound of Sandra screaming.
"We're here".
Laurel was so excited. The place wasn't extravagant but it was better than any house Laurel could ever live in.
The place was dazzingly lit up and furnished with fixed furniture. It is white in colour and a moderate size. Laurel couldn't help it but squeel.
"Thank you so much", Laurel said while hugging and kissing Gill in the presence of Sandra.
They removed their flip flops which was bought by Gill while wearing their second hand gowns and short skirt.
It was beautiful but empty. Lucky for them, Gill got everything under control and had already shipped the goods from his work place.
"You're the best", Laurel said as she gave Gill a sounding peck on the cheek.
They got in the house and raised the subject again, "So we start from traditional marriage", Gill aroused.
"Yes, and from there move on to other ceremonies".
One week later........
It was time for the Traditional Ceremony and everywhere was perfect for the occasion.
The tribes dancers danced to the music while Gill and Laurel listened and watched attentively.
Gill wore a white tight top and her personal blanket while Gill wore a blue suit and a navy blue trouser.
The MC was hired by Gill and made to introduce the ceremony. "Welcome today as we live and thank God for allowing us to see this traditional wedding way of Gill and Laurel".
Sandra sat and played with the kids hardly concentrating on the events taking place. Soon enough, Gill and Laurel were called for their separate speeches.
"I am so happy and raise my glass to know that I am married again. This is a beautiful woman and I am so glad to remarry with her.
I made lots of mistakes when I was away from her and left her in pain and suffering. I am glad it pretty much worked out in the end", Gill mentioned.
"My soon to be husband has said it all. I am looking forward to this marriage. Me, my husband and my little child. May God bless you all", Laurel stated.
Sandra ran up on stage while a large sounding 'amen' petruded the mouth of the congregation. The traditional marriage was concluded and the MC closed the ceremony.
It was then time for the church ceremony. The place was dazzingly lit up with lots of foods and drinks. It had a marble design and a blue paint finish. The church design was beautiful.
On this occasion, Laurel wore a wedding gown while Gill wore a grey suit and a nice shirt. The two sat down at the back of the MC while he introduced the ceremony.
They then took the oath which showed that they will be no room for divorce. A complete contrast from the last time they did this oath.
The pastor in charge then said the words, "I now pronounce you husband and wife", while a sounding ovation proceeded from the crowd.
They sprayed them with money while they danced through the day.
"Only one left", Gill said while beaming a smile.
Two days later......
The court wedding came by rather quickly. They arrived at the court and left Sandra alone in the house.
Laurel wore a flowing gown while Gill wore a gym jacket.
This time the court filed all the papers and made sure that nothing was missing. Gill and Laurel were a completely changed couple and this time never decided to divorce again, especially not to upset and interfere with the life and mindset of Sandra.
The filing was done and the court handed them the papers. They then motioned into the car and drove home.
Sandra awaited their arrival and so did many of their neighbours who planned a little surprise party for the occasion hoping that this time will not turn out as bad.
"Thank you for joining us on this monumental occasion. I am pleased to inform you that we are married and this time, they will be no room for divorce", Gill mentioned.
Sandra then ran up to the alter as they hugged each other.
They both walked down holding hands while the congregation showered them with money.
That night Gill was about sleeping when a thought flashed through his head. 'Finally, married; and this time for real. I will try not to mess this up', Gill thought as he shut his eyes to sleep.
