CHAPTER 7-GIVING BIRTH

1341 Words
A few weeks after the observation and Gill together with Jessie lived happily under the same roof. They did lots of things together awaiting the arrival of the baby. "Babe, I am now four months old". "I know. I will soon be a father", Gill said not feeling remorseful about the situation of Lisa. Three months later..... About three months later and Gill began to notice unusual movements in the stomach of Jessie. "Babe, your stomach seems obsolete. Is there something wrong?". "Umm...", Jessie hesitated before speaking. "I didn't want to bother you about the situation at hand but I guess this is the right time to state the facts. I was diagnosed during my early twenties about a disease which makes the baby not stand on his head before giving birth. This phenomenon goes very deep into my body system before you finally get a glimpse of what you are working with", Jessie said with a worried look on her face. " All my time of knowing you and I have never seen or experienced this, except now. Come on! Let's rush you to the hospital", Gill said with a sound of sincerity and motioned her into the car. They drove to the nearest but best hospital around the area with specified surgeons who know how to get the job done. It took them about thirty minutes to arrive in which they then rushed out of the car and petruded their way into the operation room. "This is a heavy situation involved in many women and may as well require surgery", the doctor explained. "Sir whatever it takes to make my wife whole again". The doctor then explained that it is added up to a sum of #1,500,000 only. They paid the money and the doc told them that they would be ready to recieve them by tomorrow noon. And so with that, they left the premises. Gill and Jessie reached home more thankful than how they left but then Jessie raised up a curious query, "Are you sure that with all that money you will still be able to cater for our needs?". "Yes, I am", Gill answered confidently. "Where do you even acquire all this money from?". Gill hesitated for a while as he knew that his job was not the only way he earns money. He was a man who gambles for seeking extra cash, he mainly did this before he met Jessie, when his life was centred around drinking and gambling. So with that, Gill gave a moderate and honest but not completely sincere answer, "My work place pays a whole lot of cash for full time employees". Jessie reasoned with the answer but in the end let it all go as it was more appropriate than it sounded. A few weeks later...... As Gill and Jessie were in the one room apartment kissing, Gill recieved a call from who he would have never wanted at this point in time. "Honey, how is work?", Lisa asked. "Oh, it's all good, we are making some good sales with a good personal buyer of ours". Lisa from the other side of the line beamed a smile to hear that her husband was making good profits for the family. "Well be back soon, only about three months left before you return", Lisa said as she cut the call. The surgery had taken place a few weeks ago and the doctor was paid fully for his efforts. He tried to shift the baby back into place but didn't succeed as he would have planned, at least the birth giving process would be a whole lot easier for Jessie. One week to the scheduled giving birth, given by the doctor. The pains recieved by Jessie were more severe than what any normal person would recieve. It was hypothesised to be caused by the mispositioning of the baby in the womb. The two went out and bought some pain killers to seize the pain but it refused to seize. Jessie then knew that she had to manage it until the day of giving birth. The day of giving birth and Jessie wore a long streamed gown that swept the floor. Easy to take off and easy to put on. Meanwhile, Gill wore a casual outing shirt with three-quarter jeans. They arrived at Maternal Offspring Hospital and Jessie was rushed to the labour room. Gill followed suit and watched the process unfold. "Sir, Pls can you step out", was an unconscious voice that arose behind Gill. "Sure, why not. Carry on your operation", Gill said as he left the premises. Gill stayed in the waiting room communicating with some pals of his who he invited to join him in this monumental part in every man's life. Five hours later...... A few hours later and Gill was called into the labour room. Gill walked full of anguish and worry as he stepped into the room. "It is a boy", the doctor said as Gill ran jumping and escalating through the floor they stayed. He then came back to his senses and turned to see Jessie holding the baby in her arms. 'To God be the glory', thought Gill. Gill with the baby in his arms accompanied by Jessie got in the car. The thought of him being a father made his day even better. The circumstance made him to never want to leave Jessie and so decided not to contact Lisa probably hoping that the hypothesised date would be extended. The baby was nursured by Gill and Jessie while the baby's dedication and naming ceremony were prepared. Meanwhile, Lisa awaited the nine months deadline so as to see the her charming husband again. She has longed for him for so long and it only awaited about a month before Gill's return. The dedication day sprung about rather quickly. They invited Pastor Renald, a renewed and popular pastor who is known around the community. He prayed for the baby and concluded the prayer by saying, 'In Jesus mighty name we have given thanks'. Gill then stepped up on the stage accompanied by Jessie to name the baby. "I have been thinking about it for a while and I decided to name the baby, of course with the opinion of Jessie; Timmy Albert". He paused while the audience gave a loud sounding ovation. "I wish to nurture this boy and help him to exhibit his dream no matter the cost". With that, Gill handed the baby over to Jessie as they both stepped down from the stage. The two were handed over with gifts and a huge sum of cash for the giving birth. Timmy was not spared any expense by his parents. Gill stayed with Jessie for another week before Lisa called querying about Gill due to the fact that the nine months deadline was almost up. "It was extended", was the reply of Gill after Lisa asked. "What again?", Lisa complained with a sound of frustration. "So when will you be back?". "Not confirmed yet", was the insincere reply of Gill. Lisa furiously cut the call. "We have given birth, we have dedicated our child, when are we finally going to get married?", was a question asked by Jessie which broke through the atmosphere. To that question, Gill didn't reply. Jessie began to observe the worried look on Gill's face as he was about to step out. "Where are you going?". "I work late, remember", was the response of Gill. "I want to see your working place. As soon to be husband and wife, we should begin to know each other better. I assume that is why you didn't answer my previous question". Gill couldn't stop her as things would begin to look suspicious, so he decided to take her to an abondoned warehouse claiming that it was his working place. Once they arrived, they jumped over the fence of the land and broke down the apartment door. Jessie refused to say a word with the mindset that this was his usual routine.
