I stare at Nick in disbelief while his words settle over me. Was he confessing to me? Was he really saying that he cared for me? Or was this just his way of trying to get me to let my guard down so that he could conceive an heir with me?
But why go through all this trouble? The small voice in the back of my head asks. Especially after you’ve already agreed to have a baby.
Everything that Nick was doing was confusing me, from saving me from my wedding to marrying me to helping me take over my pack to confessing that he cares for me. It was all confusing and sudden, and it was honestly a bit scary.
