When I was done crying, I drove back home. It took me a bit longer. When I reached home, the light of the living room was still on and my mom was sitting there, she was obviously smiling just now. But when she saw me, she was shocked.

“Why are you here, Lila? “ Mom asked me while covering her shocked expression with a smile.

“Mom, this is my home. Were you expecting me not to come home tonight?” I asked, tears welling up my eyes.

“I…. I didn't say that,” Mom was shuttering. “I thought you would be late”

“Mom, why did you think so? “

“I…l… ”

“Mom, where is Dad?” I cut her off.

She can't form a word. Was Mr. Alex right?

Did she…? Did she sell me? But why would she do that? I'm her daughter. I was still not sure whether to believe Mr. Alex or not. But one thing was sure Dad wasn't there.

“He…”

“Dad is out of the city, he went to his friends for help” It was Anna this time.

“Out of the city? Then why did you send me there…? Was… Mr. Alex right?” I said, tears rolling down my face.

Mr. Alex was right, she sold me. I was sure a fool to not even know where Dad was and to trust Mom. I cursed myself being so engaged in my study and not thinking and talking to Dad for two whole days.

“Yeah, he was right, but it looks like you didn't please him. Lila, you're of no use… How dare you run off?” Mom was furious. Like she wanted to skin me alive.

“Mom, why?” I couldn't control myself, and I was on the ground kneeling in front of Mom, tears never stop coming out.

“Shut up Lila!! Go back there. How am I supposed to face him? I have taken the money… Do you want me to die?” Anyway, I'm just helping your Dad, just think you are helping your Dad" She tried to lift me up.

What? Was she really my mom? Helping Dad? By selling myself? I shook my head in annoyance.

“Please mom, I don't want to go back there. I'll do whatever thing you say, but not this one…. Please” I plead, sobbing.

“Lila just cut the crap and go back there. Or else… “ Mom said with a threatening voice. She used to threaten me whenever she was me to do something.

“Mom, I said I don't want to go back there. How could you do this to me?”

“Lila, it's just to help your Dad. Why are you making a fuss over it? Do you want Anna to do this? She's your younger sister, you should think about her future. Just go there, okay” Mom tried to persuade me.

“Think about her future? What about me?”

“Enough of this Lila… Do as I said, or I'll ask Mr. Alex to come over here” Mom was angry this time.

“Lila, let's have a deal” Anna said with a smirk.

“What deal” I was confused.

“You know Lila, Dad gave you a 50% share of his company on your 17th birthday. Give that to me, and I'll see if I can help you” After saying this, Ann went to the drawer and brought out the documents.

“ I've already got it ready, you just need to sign" She said and throw the documents on me.

“But Anna, Dad will give you the rest 50% to you on your 17th, right?”

“I know, but I want full ownership” Ann said.

“Lila, you have to choose, property or self-esteem?” Mom said coming close to me.

After thinking for a while, I picked up the documents without reading it I just signed, before throwing back to Anna.

“Mom tell me… Why did you do this to me? I have never done anything to wrong you before, I have always respected you. You love Anna more, you give her everything she asked for and then treat me like a maid” I said angrily, I really wanted to know why she's away treating me like a slave.

“How dare you accuse me of not treating you good. I have raised you, you got shelter, food. Isn't that enough?”Mom was red from anger.

“Mom… I… " I wanted to say something, but I don't know what to say"

“Mom, I think it right time we tell her the truth” Ann said mysteriously.

“What truth? What are you hiding Mom? “ I don't understand why, but I got bad feelings about this.

“Lila, I know this will be difficult for you to believe, but it time you know the truth. Mom isn't your mom she only gave birth to me” Ann said smiling.

I was shocked. I look at Mom, expecting her to say something, but instead she was calm as if it were true. I can't help but silently cry, my whole world was shattering.

I looked at Mom with teary eyes.

She sighed and said. “When Anna was 4, we move here from the countryside. It was then that we found you. You were near the jungle, unconscious. We took you home, but you forget everything except your name. We got you to the orphanage, but later we couldn't leave you there so we decided to took you in”

I was just listening.

“So now you know the truth, I think you should leave to go find your parents, I'm tired of sharing my parents with you” Anna said coldly.

“Take this money, and start a new life. Anyway, you have finished college already. You can look for a job to make a living. And lastly don't even think of telling Dad we chased you away” With that, Anna threw the check on me and walked away.

I look at Mom. I wanted her to speak, I wanted her to tell me not to leave, but she just walked away without saying anything. She left, leaving me alone to cry on the cold ground.

I don't know how long I have been crying but right now, I can't feel anything. My tears had stopped coming, I just feel empty inside and my mind is blank.

I got up and went to my room, change my clothes. Took out my bag and arrange some clothes inside, put some necessary documents, toiletries and my little savings, and then I went to the kitchen and got some food into the bag.

While leaving, I saw the check Anna gave meme, I look at it for a while and move towards the door without taking the check.

I don't have a home now, and I have nowhere to go to. I just walked down the street without any destination. My mind was blank. I don't know where I was going, but I keep on going….
