I stopped, the road parted. It was three ways ahead, I look at them for a while. I really didn't know where to go, I quietly went to the roadside and sat on a bench.

I begin to think about what just happened. A while ago, I had a home, family, Dad, Mom and a little sister. I have a plan for the future, I graduated from the college. Oh I forget tomorrow was my test for entrance. And now just a few moments later, I'm homeless.

My family which I claimed to be mine was not mine…. I found out I was adopted. I have no place to live, I have nothing…. Just this life. God, why did you give me this life? Wait, who gave me this life? Who were my parents? Why did they leave me alone, unconscious? Did they abandon me? Arrhhhh…. I cried out in frustrated. Tears were coming out again.

I shook my head and wipe my tears. “No Lila, you aren't going to give up…. Everything happens for a reason, maybe this too”.

I fished out my phone from my pocket and dialed Mia number. Mia Lopez, is my best friend. She's an orphan. We graduated from the same college, we're together right from our junior high school. She's one of the very few people who treats me well. She recently got an apartment and a job. So I think I can live with her for a while.

“What the hell, Lila? Why are you calling me at midnight? Do you want me to get bags under my eyes?” She yelled, half awake.

“Hey Mia… Hmm. I'm sorry but please can you take me in for a night?” I asked her hesitantly.

“What happened? Is everything alrighty?” She asked.

“Yeah yeah… Everything is all right. I'll tell you when I get there, okay?

“ Where are you now? Do you need me to come over? You sound like you are not okay. Wait, have you been crying?" She asked, her voice full of concern. I felt somehow warm inside. After all the things that happen to me today, I need this a lot.

“No, I'm fine… I know your password, you can go back to sleep, I will be there in a while”.

“Okay, come fast. I'll try not to sleep” she said, a yawn following closely behind.

" Okay" I said, hanging the phone.

I start walking to her apartment, it wasn't that far. I don't have a car, and the incident that happened earlier is enough to send a chill down my spine.

As I walk in the lonely street, I heard a loud scream or should I say a roar…. I was so terrified that my steps halted. I slowly down around only to see a huge animal running towards me.

It was a wolf… A big black wolf, bigger than any normal wolf. I wanted to run away, but somehow I couldn't. I just can't myself to move a step and run for my life.

I stood there frozen, looking at the big wolf running towards me with a speed. I know it was my last day, it was death… After so much pain that I got today, is this how I'm going to die?

I close my eyes tightly, waiting for the wolf to tear me apart, but it didn't. Just a loud thud. When I opened my eyes, the wolf was on the ground. I look at it, those beautiful brown eyes…. It was so… So mesmerizing. This wolf has a pleasant scent coming from it. Isn't I suppose to be scared, but I'm not? I just stand there watching it.

And then I heard a sound “mate” I look around to locate the source of the sound. But I can't find anyone… Maybe it was just an illusion. When I look back at the wolf, I noticed that it was covered with blood. Looking at the blood oozing out. Somehow my heart ached, I slowly stretched out my right hand to touch the wolf. Before I could touch it, the wolf close his eyes.

“There he's” Someone said.

I lift my head to know who was that, there were three beautiful girls in their late 20s.

Who are they? Are they the reason the wolf was hurt? I thought to myself.

But again, why would they hurt a wolf?

One of the girls came forward and close her eyes. Take both of her hands in front of her chest and form a circle in the air, I don't even know what she was doing. Then the other girls also did the same. After a while, something unusual happened. A kind of light was emerging from their hands.

What the hell are they doing?

Were they magicians??

They take the light or whatever they form and strike it towards the wolf.

The wolf screamed loudly in pain, and so did I in horror. I don't even know what I was seeing.

I can't believe my eyes… Maybe I was hallucinating, but the wolf close it eyes, after the wolf close it eyes. I saw it slowly turning to human.

I was scared to death. What the hell on earth is happening? Did I just see that? Am I hallucinating? Am I going insane because of the incident that happened earlier?

I took a step backward, the wolf in front of me have turned into a human. It was naked and facing the ground. Wait, am I dreaming or what, how can this be real?

I turned to look at those girls, they were also staring at me. I wanted to run away, but where would I run to…

I mean they do magic, so what is the point of running? They'll definitely catch me.

A blonde girl was coming towards me, standing In front of me, she closed her eyes and put both hands in front of her chest. And I saw the same light forming again. I was so scared that I block my view with both hands, I know she was going to kill me the way she did to that wolf.

I was afraid…. This is it… . Whatever happened today was out of this world, a man trying to rape me… Finding out my mom sold me… To know I was adopted..... And then meeting magicians…. And a wolf or a human…. Or whatever…

In a very second… Everything was coming and going in front my eyes… I don't know why it happened, but whatever happened today, in spite of the pain. I wanted to live… But why was I going to die? I thought to myself, and suddenly, I felt angry developing in me for God for giving me this kind of life. For my parents who abandoned me, for being hated by the people of called mom and sis for no reason.

I felt angry and hated building inside me, I felt hot… I was getting hotter and hotter, then I heard screams.

When I opened my eyes those girls who was about to hurt me were on fire… Three of them were surrounded by huge fire. Slowly they were burnt and their screams became smaller.

I was so overwhelmed by the scene. My eyes became to close slowly, and I fall on the ground.
