Chapter 31- Rekindling

Shehzad was cold. I caressed his face with the back of my hand; he was still cold. His skin was pale and his lis were lightly pink yet dried out. The worry lines still lingered on his smooth forehead. After sixteen thirty six hours without sleep, I finally managed to get him to take a nap. He was stubborb but he listened to me when I begged him to rest even for a couple of minutes. Its only been two hours since he's been asleep and I feel relieved that he was resting yet my heart was filled with a void. The doctors had told us that Shehzad's uncles and Anwar was alright; their wounds weren't that damaging but they couldn't make the Chairman stop bleeding because he was shot twice and directly in the chest. They said even a more devastating thing; one of the bullets had pierced his carotid
